Loved the scene with Nick and Leslie though. Very sweet and gave her a good memory there at the end. There is a nice balance of lightheartedness to go with the seriousness of the story.
Author's Response: Pretty much, though I will say something does spark a change eventually. I'm glad you liked the Nick/Leslie scene. I re-read it just now and it's a bit sad to me knowing what happened in real life to her. :(. Thank you, as much of an angst fest this is, I wanted to keep a balance so that it's not 100% depressing the whole way through LOL.

Man, that was an intense chapter between Nick and Jane. Grr, that makes me not like that woman even more!! Lol. And the interaction between Leslie and Nick was really endearing... I can only imagine how it'll be between him and BJ.
Author's Response: Their relationship, it was interesting to write. Because I'm very close with my mom, and I've been lucky that way. So it wasn't easy, but Leslie and Nick were. I always figured she had to get fed up with the Nick comparisons.

Loved this chap! I have no idea why I'm just reviewing. Lol. Jane is such a bitch...good way to go with her reaction. Who knows how she would act! Loved how he bonded with Leslie...the very ending was really cute and a light moment for an intense chap :)

Another great chapter, DR! I loved the drama of the scene with Jane... the way you wrote that encounter was sad, but perfect. And I loved that the meeting with Leslie was just the opposite. I'm glad he does have some support from other members of his family, not just Angel. Their conversation was honest and touching. Great job, DR; keep the streak going!! ZDRATW!!!

I knew when I decided Jane, I'd have to sneak Leslie in here cause I already knew how she would be. He needs more than Angel, and I think she's the most likely candidate. Thank you! I liked the contrast between the two scenes in this chapter. Jane is such a bitch, and Nick was right to tell her everything he thought about her. I felt really awkward for Leighanne in that situation, but it was nice of Nick to stand up for her when Jane called her a religious nut. I can't believe she just left like that, instead of apologizing to him or anything. I guess Nick wanted her to leave, but still. Jane is the worst. Anyway, I really liked the scene him him and Leslie. I'm glad that they were finally open and honest with each other and able to put the past behind them. The part where they tripped at the end fit so well and made me laugh. This was a great chapter, Rose! It was very a realistic portrayal of the Carters, I think :)
Author's Response: Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for, showing the differences between the reactions against each other. :). Jane is a bit evil. It'll take something extreme to change that, I guess. I felt awkward for Leighanne too, I knew she'd be there for support, but I also felt awkward writing here there LOL. I feel Nick would totally stand up for her though. Jane is definitely the worst. I'm happy you liked the Leslie/Nick scene. They needed that, and the tripping was a random thought but it worked so well I thought, but I'm happy everyone agrees lol. Thanks Steph! The Carters are hard to write haha, so it's nice knowing I got it right.

This was all the people I hate of the Backstreet excess baggage department all in one chapter lol I think you handled the Jane situation really well. Who knows what she would actually do in that situation. Part of me hopes that now they are a lot closer than they used to be but I can still see all of the Carters turning this into an 'about them' thing instead of worrying and caring for Nick. I do like the fact that Leslie bonded with him. She was always my favorite of the Carters if I had to pick one. I also think she's the most similar to Nick. Great chapter and yay to all this updating!
Author's Response: LMAO awwww. I know, I debated a lot about how Jane would react to this. Basically up until I finally wrote it. I would hope I'm wrong about Jane, but a major part of me doubts it. I like Leslie, but on twitter she's still an attention whore, so thats why in here it was Angel that was more the sane one, and Leslie who turned around, but that it took time. I do think she's very similar to Nick though, watching HOC definitely showed that. Thanks Mare! And yes, yay muse!

Goddamn Jane. Part of me was hoping she would finally get that stick out of her ass. Nick was so right for everything he told her, she deserved to hear it. I loved the scene with Leslie too, glad they finally talked and worked some things out. Honestly I don't think he will get through to Aaron but hopefully someone knocks some sense into the kid. Great update as always rose!

Another great chapter, Rose. The scene with Nick, Jane, and Leighanne was really emotional and well-done I think. Believable too. I loved the ending, it was a great visual. Leave it to Nick and Leslie to cause chaos like that. :p I can't wait for more as always.

Jane..well, no surprise there! Leslie..now THAT was sweet, specially that end scene. Very nicely done.
And I have ALWAYS thought that Les was Nick's twin just born a couple years too late. They are the only two Carter sibs (other than Nick and Aaron) who you can actually tell that are related. She really is the female version of him..lol

And I'm glad you liked Leslie's bit! That I can actually see, given the circumstances, and Nick deserved it. :). I'm glad you thought that too! Those two are almost identical, it freaks me out sometimes LOL. Even Aaron doesn't look that much like Nick anymore, he looks more like Bob these days. BJ looks like Jane. But Leslie's totally the female Nick, it's weird.
