Even though Nick could hardly remember anything i am glad the guys will be able to keep hia memories alive and well.

Author's Response: Yup, really that's what Nick wanted most.

it's sad that they are kind of remembering him like he was dead, I know in a way he is dead or dying but it's just ...

Author's Response: I know, but the Nick they knew is in a way. And I feel like this chapter is what summed up the theme of the story. :)

Oh my... a heartwrenching episode he had!! Poor Nick, poor Brian, poor all of them!! The ending of this chapter brought a smile to my face... AJ would be the one to let the bus continue on without Nick while he chased them... I could just picture it, lol.

Author's Response: I know :(. I needed something to really convince Brian it was time. The ending, the ending I wanted to go back to the point of the entire story. That even when Nick forgets, he lives on in his four "brothers" and that's what matters the most. LOL that memory was inspired a bit from a scene in the movie "Almost Famous". First time I saw it, I immediately imagined AJ and Nick LMAO. Cause seriously, who else would it be?

Awww...the part where he doesn't recognize Baylee is really sad. I'm sure the kids just don't understand :( And I love the honesty of Brian's feelings with blaming Nick. I can imagine it's something he would feel but never admit. Great job :)

Author's Response: Right, even though Baylee's a teenager, it's hard enough for an ADULT...let alone a kid. Thank you, I really wanted to touch upon Brian's frustration and anger. He wouldn't say it outloud but I knew he'd think it. Thanks again Sel!

At least they will always have the good memories!

Author's Response: Exactly, which was really what Nick wanted most. :)

aww, I loved all the memories they shared at the end. Very touching. *taking a deep breath* okay off to read the last one now. Walking slowly to make the moment last, or possibly because I am forgetting what i'm doing. one or the other.

Author's Response: Thank you, I wanted to go back to the theme and purpose of this story before it ended. It seemed like the best way to go. LMAO just don't wander off naked! :)

Crying now... :'( The beginning of this chapter was totally heartbreaking. What a nice idea, to get the whole Backstreet family together for one last holiday... too bad the Carter Christmas turned into chaos, and it wasn't even Jane's fault! The last scene with the four other guys was so bittersweet, but it really sums up the whole point of this story and works in the title well. LOVE IT!!!

Author's Response: Awwwww! *hands you a tissue* I figured that's something Brian would do, but you know me, I can't let it be too peaceful. I like the irony of a Carter Christmas turning into a mess, but it NOT being Jane's fault this time. I'm glad you liked the last scene with the guys, wasn't sure if it came off cheesy. But to me, like you said, it comes back to the entire theme of the story. Thank you!

It's so good that they have decades worth of memories of Nick. That's what's important. :)

Author's Response: Exactly, they can't change what's happening, but they can remember him for how he was. It's what Nick wants, and it'll help them deal. :)

AH dammit you made me cry. This was bittersweet. I cannot imagine letting a friend like Nick go. That would kill me. And yes I used some Kleenex. On to the last part.
Marguerite

Author's Response: I'm sorry! (Sort of...) it wouldn't be easy, which is why Brian was fighting the idea of it so hard. Even when he knew it was for the best. Sadly, this sent him over the edge into making that decision. Thanks!

I knew Brian was going to make that choice. This story seriously makes me miss my grandmother and remember things...but it doesn't get easier and I know what these guys are going through. I will miss this story. You have helped me a lot.

Author's Response: It was definitely coming. He knew it, but this pushed him over the edge. Awww I don't mean to depress you about real life stuff. I'm gonna miss this story too. Thanks for all your reviews Tracy!
