Catching up! I like how you ended this chapter with both Nick and Brian talking to their moms. Nice juxtaposition - what a difference there is there! I'll be curious to see how you write Nick and Aaron's trainwreck of a performance from Nick's POV, if you're planning to write that. Like, did he realize how bad his outfit was?? This Nick, probably not LOL. Reading on!
Author's Response: There's definitely a difference between Brian and Nick's families, and I think part of that is the reason for their disconnect as of late. I really don't like writing about Jane, but I thought it was sort of necessary for this part of the story. I'll definitely be writing about Aaron and Nick's trainwreck performance LOL how could I not? It's one of my favourites ever just for how epically bad it is haha. Thanks Julie :)

Now lets see if Leighanne will let Brian see his family. And I really hate Jane, have I said that yet? Cause I do. Howie and Leigh are cute lol. It reminded me of a story Howie told on the first cruise about something they did in her hotel room on the black and blue tour when they were in Florida, so she's there for part of it anyway lol. The Kevin part is really sweet, it's ironic that him and Nick have reverse roles. Nick the oldest in his fam, Kevin the youngest, and then the opposite in the group.
Author's Response: Ugh I hate Jane too! She's so the worst, and I really hate writing her, but she does make for good drama, and I've honestly never forgotten the smug look on her face as the camera panned over her during that performance with her stupid sunglasses and designer jacket. Ugh! Go away, Jane. Howie and Leigh are suuuper cute. I'm intrigued by this story Howie told! I've always thought that Nick and Kevin's reverse roles were really, really interesting! It's something that I find really neat about their bond, actually!

Brian needs to stop being so selfish. He's in his bubble of happiness and doesn't even see what is going on with the other guys. Gah. I want to just slap him. I felt sorry for Nick again here, all he wants is a mom and she's not giving him that :( I liked the transition between Nick's and Brian's parts with the mom stuff. Great chapter as always Steph!
Author's Response: Brian is definitely beings really selfish, he needs to get out of the bubble! But I can see why he's doing it - I think at this point he really did just view BSB as a job and the others as his coworkers, which I think is pretty sad. I feel sorry for Nick here too. Poor guy, his family life is so messed up, and now his BSB life is quickly getting messed up as well. Thanks Tracy :)

It would be nice to be the Kevin who everyone looked out for once in a while instead of the Kevin who looked out for everyone <-- I really loved that line! It perfectly summed up Kevin nicely!
This was a great chapter. I love how you had the common thread of all of them talking to their moms, minus Howie and the different relationship they all have in regards to that. On the one hand you have Brian's mom call him baby duck and the other hand you have Jane not really caring about her son in the least. It explains so much how and why they act the way they do.
Glad you got a chance to update! Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the bit about Kevin, I really enjoyed writing that part and I thought it would be nice to show the divide between Kevin's home life and work life. They all have such different home lives that I thought I'd touch on it a little, especially since I think during the break they would want to go home and see their families - except for Nick for the obvious reasons, haha. Poor guy. Jane is the worst. Thanks for the review, Mare! :)
