Yay! I'm so glad that you're writing this again...I love this story. I did have to remind myself what was going on and backtrack a little bit. Great chap. I love that Howie went back to check on Nick. And the ending is classic! And total LOL at Kevin being a coffee snob. I can see that. :)

Yay, you updated again! Glad this story seems to be officially back in progress! This was a great chapter. I'm glad we finally got to see the meeting between AJ and the guys (two of them, anyway). I think I would have felt just like Brian before the meeting; all his worries seemed valid. I'm glad AJ seems to be doing so well. Nick is really coming off like the most screwed up one now. I'm glad Howie's there with him; hopefully he can talk some sense into him. It's a good sign Nick seems to be okay with Howie staying for awhile. I wonder where it will go from here. Keep the updates coming! :)
Author's Response: I'm glad to be working on it again! This chapter actually was the first one where the Brian part was the easiest. That never happens for me... I have such a hard time writing him. I'm glad Howie's with Nick too, hopefully he'll be able to stop Nick from going down such a bad path. I'm really happy that you liked this chapter, I sat on it for a few days and it went through a lot of rewrites haha. Thanks so much for the review Julie!

Somehow I don't think Howie's visit is going to end well. Nick seems annoyed with him, especially asking questions and bringing up AJ. The AJ moments were adorable, I love how realistic this is. Great chapter Steph!

Nick was definitely annoyed for him bringing up the AJ thing, but I think he was harboring a lot of guilt over not going to see him. I'm glad you liked the AJ parts! I rewrote those parts over and over trying to get them right, so it makes me really happy to know it came off well.

So good to see a new chapter Steph, I thought you had abandoned it, but thankful that you haven't!
Loved how Howie is the one who's all calm and the voice of reason where Nick is concerned. I think it's right that he be the one to go and see how he's getting on because he needs someone just as much as AJ does. I could just imagine them lounging around with the pizza and weed, lol.

Author's Response: I definitely hadn't abandoned it, but I was very very stuck for a long time! I really enjoy Nick and Howie's relationship, I really do think that back during this time, Howie was the only one in the group Nick was getting along with. The image of the two of them hanging out with pizza and weed is a funny one, lol. I think Nick definitely needs a visit as much as AJ does - hopefully Howie will be able to help him out :) Thanks much for the review, Steph! I'm glad you're still enjoying it. So because I can't focus on writing, I'd been catching up on this instead. (I really was behind on this, and you updating gave me a great reason to catch up). I'm reminded of all the reasons I loved this story to begin with. The way you seem to get into the Boys' heads, the realistic portrays of how things could've been back then, and simply how well written it is. I'm so glad you're back to this story Steph...no long delays again!

Yay, I was so excited to see that you finally updated this one!!! And I didn't even have to go back and catch up because I actually remembered what was going on in the story. I love that Howie changed plans and went to see Nick instead of AJ; Nick needed that, even if he won't admit it. Hopefully Howie will be a better influence than douchey Chris. Can't wait to see what those two get up to in Tampa and how the visit with AJ goes! Hope you update again soon!!

I really enjoy writing Howie and Nick scenes, so I have had it planned from the beginning that Howie would go see Nick at this point - and I think it makes sense he'd be the only one who would. Great chapter, Steph! I'm glad you got over your hurdle and finished this. It turned out perfect! I hate writing the music business stuff, cause I never know what I'm doing, but you make it sound realistic. I liked the way the meeting went and how they convinced Jive to call it Chapter 1. I kinda laughed at the conversation about whether or not there would ever be a Chapter 2... I love that they've released three new albums since then, but it's too bad they'll probably never be able to make another "greatest HITS" album. Oh well! I think you can really see the divide in the group in Brian's scene, how Howie wants to get right back in the studio, but Kevin and Brian are happy for the break. And then there's Nick... poor douchebag Nick LOL. At least he feels bad; he should! Not sure it will make a difference right now, but I do hope he drags his ass out to see AJ. Hope you can keep the updates coming! :)

I remember reading somewhere that the guys convinced Jive to call it Chapter 1, not sure if it was true or not but I liked the idea of that. I didn't realize I only had one more chapter to read and now i'm all caught up. YAY! lol Great job with the meeting. I can see Jive and it's personnel realy acting that way. I'm so glad the guys get away from Jive when they had the chance. I remember hating the fact that they had come out with a Greatest Hits CD. Nicely done Steph! Author's Response: Yeah, I was lazy with updating this one in the last couple of months, I think this was my first update since March or February lol. I was a little bit worried about how the meeting part came out, so I just sort of based it off the meetings I have at my job. I'm glad they get away from Jive too. I hated the greatest hits cd too, I really thought that was it for them, and the video for Drowning still makes me feel sad to this day lol I was so worried they wouldn't come back. Aww you know, sometimes I do think Brian wouldn't be in the group anymore if Leighanne didn't desperately wish to tbe the 6th Backstreet Boy. I always thought he'd be the first one to quit. I am slowly catching up on this one and absolutely adored this chapter. YOu had me LOLing during Nick's part. Going to the 7-11 that sells cherry slurpies lmao. Oh poor extremely blonde Nick. Also loved Kevin's perspective when it came to worrying about Nick and his behavior. You do a great job of writing those two and their complex relationship. Glad tpo see you have bene updating this one. I had no idea I was so far behind. lol
