I loved how you wrote Kevin's inner turmoil in this chapter. He's thought of as everyone's Superman, but he's scared shitless himself - and who wouldn't be?? That's way too much pressure. I would want to hide under the table and call it quits, too. I was hoping the people breaking into the house with be AJ and his new friend, but I'm glad it was at least people who know Randy and Clara, which hopefully means Kevin and Brian will be reunited with Howie and Nick soon. That is, if they survive the tank. I loved the detail about the Canadians tattooing a little maple leaf on their arms, btw; it reminded me of Voldemort's Death Eaters, with the Dark Mark on their arms. The idea of the Canadians being this bad-ass enemy out to annihilate us is still kind of amusing to me, but you're doing a great job making them seem like a real threat!

I know, those poor Canadians. I laughed a lot while writing this trying to picture these moose loving people being that horrible. Glad younliked the maple leaf, i was afraid it was over the top corny and thanks for your comments about Kevin's thoughts. I'm glad you are reading this after its completed because I could tell all the unanswered questions would drive you bonkers lol

Hey Meanie....oops....Mare, you  build up my hopes and then dash them!  At first, I had hoped it was AJ at the door...but no.  And then I thought yeah, reunite with Nick and Howie...but no.  But to aim a tank at the house and end it there....that's just mean!

I loved the Superman analogy.  As a comic fan, I'm more of a Batman girl!  However, I think Superman would make a wonderful character study. While wearing the cape, he's this powerful, confident, practically perfect super hero. But as Clark Kent, he's so very human with doubts and insecurities. Kevin is "Clark Kent" at the moment.  And it's understandable....it's a totally alien situation for him.  Great job of portraying him in this light.

Once again, Mare, you have me sitting on the edge of my seat.

Wow, thanks so much for that review. I am a Batman girl as well. I always had a crush on Robin though lol He is totally Clark Kent right now. It was kind of hard writing him like that. :O)

Phew! When they broke in, I was on the edge of my seat hoping that Kevin and Brian would be OK. Those men seem decent enough, so hopefully if they make it out of there, they will be safe with them. I hope they'll escape the tank in the basement.

Great chapter Mare, can't wait for more :)

I hate you so much right now. lol Just when I thought, OMG Clara and Randy, they're going to reconnect with Howie and Nick, you go and throw this wrench in the works. So mad... lol I'm just so happy to have some suspenseful stuff back on here, the last two weeks it's been nothing but romances. Missed this one, can't wait for the next chapter!
