OMG!!! That's three in a row now! If you keep doing this, I'm going to end up reading the rest of the story tonight LOL. Wow... I don't even know what to say first. I'm glad Nick finally told the story of Laura; I had been waiting to find out more about her. That is really sad. :( I hate that she planted ideas in his head about leaving his "family" and sacrificing himself to save them. I hate that he made Howie leave him. I'm kind of surprised Howie did, but I guess that fight or flight instinct kicks in. I did, however, love this line; I laughed out loud: “Howie, you can barely open a Snapple bottle without help. How are you going to make a stretcher?” Hehehe

Dammit!! Don't you ever get tired of writing mean cliffies? lol j/k. I can't tell which time period I like reading about more, they're both so intense and because of your cliffies both side leave me wanting more. This chapter managed to kind of answer questions from the last chapter too though, so that's good.
As scary as it is not knowing what these people are going to do to Nick when they come up on him, I kind of really want that to happen just so we can know where these evil canadians are taking all of the young people and what's going on with that part of the story. Thanks for the updates Mare and I can't wait for more!

I can't imagine how hard it must have been for Howie and Nick to leave Randy and Clara and not turn back when they heard those shots. Nick and Laura - extremely sad.
But with all the things happening in this chapter, the most shocking was Howie leaving Nick. Howie left Nick?!
Emotional update, Mare. I hope we have a quick update next!
