I really loved this chapter! I like how you kept the same scene of Brian sitting in the dark with Nick's body and other Nick coming in, but this one felt more poignant than the A version. The whole dynamic of them being "ghosts" to each other, as you put it, was so interesting. Brian's lost Nick, but is talking to his doppleganger, who has lost his Brian, but it seems like they had exactly the same kind of relationship in both universes. It was touching that they were able to say the things they'd never said to each other, but sad at the same time. Also, I loved that they finally told the back story at the beginning about how the world got this way. I had been wondering that the whole story, about what Trump did and why they started hunting celebrities, and again, the A track didn't really get into that at all, so I'm glad this one did. It just made the whole situation come together and make more sense. I wonder what the commotion at the end was... reading on!

Thanks! I really loved this chapter. I think it's been another one of my favorites to write. It was fun coming up with that whole Trump story lol gotta love Sci Fi! Only in this world and Days of Our Lives would something so ludicrous work!

Lookie! I caught up again! LOL. Just wanted to tell you that I still love and adore this story, especially the fact you're taking two different paths. I'm curious what'll happen when Alternate Nick goes through (without the body) and if he goes though with the bosy. I know you and I know you killing Nick has a weird purpose none of us is gonna see coming LOL. Hope you update soon Mare!

Sorry I'm so late with my review, Mare. But, here goes!
Can I just say oh Brian, you're breaking my heart. Very well written, Mare. And I like the conversation between alternate Nick and Brian. It's seems very realistic. I'm glad Brian didn't flat out forgive because he is grieving; yet, hearing about the similarities of his own alternate allows Brian to keep the door open.

I think Brian will end up forgiving him, it would be hard not to when he is exactly the same as his Nick.

Soooo...I didn't think I'd like the "take the new Nick home" option, but I'm starting to think it's kind of endearing, but weird to think that all at the same time. Bottom line I'm liking that story line more than I thought I would.lol I think the other one is just going to be a wait to see how it all turns out kind of thing.
One thing I kind of need to clarify is that...is murderer Nick offering to carry Nick through to the other side, or just to the portal and then the guys will carry him? I assume the latter, but it sounded a little like he was going all the way. lol

Hey Sam! First of all thanks for not giving up on the story. I admit I was little afriad you had decided to stop reading it after I killed off Nick. Not that I can blame you, because honestly, i''m the same exact way lmao I'm glad you're warming up to the idea of the other Nick going home with them. Just remember it's me writing this, okay? lol sometimes you have to expect the unexpected. And yes, the other Nick volunteered to carry dead Nick although I can see him trying to sneak on through the tear unnoticed lol :O)
