Ths chapter was sad and sweet to me. Sad because sometimes we don't know how much time we have and we never get to say what we wanted. But I'm glad that she got her dream house and Nick didn't have to give her any bad news. Poor guy. Great chapter Ritz!

I giggled at AJ brushing off spiders to be nothing... Alex honey, I know good and well your ass would be the first one to run off, screaming like a little girl! Lol.
But oh wow... the ending of this chapter is simply heartbreaking! The way Patty begged and pleaded for Nick to tell her mom that she's dead, to the look she gave as she watched him walk away. :( Soooo sad.
Author's Response: LOL that was so freaking true! but we also know that AJ won't admit it and take every chance he could get to tease Nicky. :) I know it was heartbreaking but Nick's reaction was just normal. Okay, I just gotta say, I LOL at Nick being sure that the women preferred his smile over Howard's wink! LMAO!! That's sucha Nick thing to say! Hahahaha. I really enjoy how you wrote this girl... started off as if she were just another fan watching the show, and then she was in shock when Nick was staring at her and started giving her attention.
Then you threw this curveball at us with the fan suddenly disappearing and reappearing backstage, letting Nick know that she did happen to be a fan of theirs, but was also seeking his help. I gotta admit, I kinda freaked out with the ending of her suddenly looking dead, but you did a great job setting up this chapter!
Author's Response: LOL I seriously believe that at one point in the past seventeen years, it crossed Nick's mind that we loved his smile over Howie's wink. LOL. I think really hard how to show Nick's ability though it was already stated in the chapter 1 what was Nick's gift. It took me hours to find a place where Black and blue and Never gone tour was held on the same place, so I could put Patty in. And I'm happy to know that you liked how I presented it! and we both know how hard headed Nickolas is, so he won't believe Patty if she won't show it to him. LOL

I like the way you write Nick, as well as the interactions between them! Lol. Simple things like Brian wanting to try a new restaurant in the Chicago area, to the boys' singing "Happy Birthday" horribly off key, lmao. And of course, gotta love AJ, who will just shoot anyone down! Lmao. But aww man, on to the next chapter where I'm sure things will start to get a bit more serious...

I swear, this story is just interesting, I love it! Very different from anything I've read! I can't imagine how hard it is for Nick during this time, but Leila has a point, even though she came across harsh. Kate is definitely in a better place, and doesn't have to stick around to complete unfinished business. He should be happy, but happiness is hard to find during a time like this. :(
Author's Response: This is a sad chapter but by far my favorite. I felt like I was really there when I was writing this one. I was sad the whole night after writing this. Writing Nick's relationship with the four guys was something I am really proud of. Thank you again, love! :)

Damn Ritz... why haven't I read this fic sooner?! Lol. This is a GREAT story!! I've come to realize that you have a very interesting way of starting off most of your fics, and the way you start off really reels readers in! What a tragic thing to start off with, but the ending of this chapter is absolutely beautiful!
Poor Nick... to not only lose the one you love, but to have that ability as well. The ending, with Kate blowing him kisses and mouthing that she loved him, that he'd be okay and she'd wait for him... :'( And it's sooo cool that the girl's name is Leila in here, because I have Layla in Last Christmas, that was inspired by Eric Clapton's song. That only means we have great minds! ;) Lol.
But man oh man, what a way to start this story off, the introductory really sucked me in!! I seriously LOVE what I'm reading so far, and I can't wait to read the next chapter! :)

Try to imagine my reaction when I saw 62 reviews, and I couldn't believe it. lol To be honest, I re-write the first chapter thrice and I was glad this was the end result. The whole scene with the light and Patty seeing her dad was awesome! Nicely written, made me feel like I was there. Is it bad that I LOL at the reactions from the guys with Nick's message. Especially, AJ almost falling out of his chair. lol. Good job, Ritz ;)

that was so incredibly sweet! I'm glad it wasn't something like telling his wife he was gone and he handled it very well I thought. Looking at it and handing it over so that it would fall apart. Very nicely done Ritz. I can't wait for what's next.
