Yup, I teach music to elementary and middle school kids. Both classroom music and band. That's awesome you were second chair trumpet. I am a flute/voice person.

Loved the introduction of Stuart and the discussion of hair including the desperate need for a blonde! Sadly, I'm sure this happens in real life as well. And to answer your chapter note, this is very well written so far. grammatically and your descriptions etc... Sometimes it's tough when people are slow or don't review, we tend to think we're not doing a good job. You are!

I'm really glad you're liking it. Reading the message boards has made me pretty insecure about this one. It seems to have all the "streotypical" fan fiction elements in it that everyone seems to hate these days. That being said, I knew that when I posted it and gave everyone fair warming, I guess. So maybe that's why it hasn't been nearly as well-received as my other story, which I'm now affectionately calling "FILA" :)
I'd be lucky to play a one-octave scale these days on my trumpet. I dropped band second semester of my senior year, but I, too, am a voice person. I did the college choir thing and had some private training through the music department there, even doing some solo performance and competition. Alas, I gave that up too when I went to grad school for something totally unrelated. These days, I'm lucky to sing in church and make a yearly appearance at my company's charity fundraiser talent show.

Aww, love the old school vibe of this fic and I know you wrote it a long time ago. It's always fun reading the mini BSB! I really liked the way you introduced each girl and in describing them, also pairing them up with each boy. I thought it was clever to have them sing that Britney song but then mention it would go to a solo artist and of course the music teacher in me loves the fact that you made both girls play the trumpet! Good for you!! LOL you know how it goes, girls play the flute and the tumpet is a boys instrument or so my students always say!
Don't be initmidated. I give you a ton of credit for sharing your first fanfic. I remember going back and doing the same thing to mine and cringing the entire time as I fixed all the mistakes I found!

I played the trumpet. It's pretty obvious who the main character here is....lol. And, yeah "Amelia" really was always first chair and I was second. I had no idea you were a music teacher! So cool.

Hey There! I thought I'd start reading a little early. This isn't the type of fic I would typically read so this experience will be relatively new to me. I am more of a suspense, horror, action girl. I admit I am a little confused just by who is talking and who is who but it's also only the first chapter lol I have to tell you I have a horrible memory when it comes to character names etc... so I apologize ahead of time if I mess up. I get that Chris is the guy from Nsync but I'm confused as to who the person at band camp is and who they are in relation to Amelia? I'm sure I'll figure it out. I do like the fact that Kevin is the lead. I usually am a Nick centered chick lol but ironically enough Kevin is my favorite boy. I am so happy he's back with the guys!
Anyway, I promise all my feedback won't be so long winded and Huh? ish. lol I guess I just mainly wanted to come in and say hello. I'm going to try to read a chapter a day but then skip a few days at a time while I read Erika's fic too. Glad to see you participating in the challenge. :O)

This was my first attempt at fanfic in over 15 years, so I agree that it's a little jumbled at the beginning. Plus, this is literally the same story I wrote 15 years ago, just adding to and "cleaning it up" grammar-wise, etc along the way. Amelia is a band director. Emily assumes that she won't be there because of band camp happening at the same time. Hope that helps without giving away too much of the rest of the story. It becomes clearer later on. I'm a little intimidated that you're reading this....haha

Nick is such a dork. He is so funny and sweet. It must be hard or difficult for Em to watch Amelia and Kevin "together" and to see the growing belly. Now she is avoiding Joey, Howie and Kevin. And missing Danny. I feel for her.

Emily, thank you so much for the new chapters. It was fun reading them. I loved Kevin´s red ears while talking about his night with Amelia. And Joey was such a loveable guy until he cheated on Em. That came as a big surprise. Howie is just a very fine person. Will he have a chance with Em ? And I swear Kevin never stopped loving her.
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it! I never wanted the Joey character to be someone the readers hated. He just got confused and made some bad decisons. Kevin is going to have a lot on his plate with a baby on the way (of course, by reading the beginning you know the ultimate outcome. It will just take a while for them to get there). As far as Howie goes, you will find out in the next 2-3 chapters. Oh, so many cute boys, so little time...lol

wow, this story is amazing. I love the way how all characters interact with eachother. The storyline is very strong. Being a big Kevin girl I am very happy he plays a big part in this one.
