Author's Response: It was just supposed to be random too, the he just drops dead without warning, but I read a book about writing that said in real life people do just randomly die of heart attacks, but you can't do that in fiction without planting some kind of seed for the reader. And I figured that book was talking to me, so I went back and changed it. The power of having things pre-written!

Yeah, Nick was totally doomed to kick the bucket from the beginning, even before 1D was a part of this story or even on my radar at all. LOL I just can't let Nick be happy in any story ever! I was hoping it was a dream or something like that, and that she'd wake up and realise she really did love him and they'd live happily ever after :( Poor Nick, dying in his sleep and never having found true love. I was actually holding back the tears at the thought of that, him thinking he was unloved :(
I know she loved him as a friend and I just hope that she has someone to turn to who can help her through this awful time...maybe a blonde boybander from Ireland perhaps?
Even though I'm gutted and sad you killed Nick, I still love this story Steph!
Author's Response: I know right, poor Nick. It's so sad, but I had planned for him dying from the start - even before this was going to be a 1D/BSB story in my original idea for it. Brittany will likely have someone to turn to, and you are probably right in your prediction but we'll see what happens! Ok so I WAS right about him being sicker than he let on. Wow. I never expected this to happen so soon, and it came so suddenly....like "Nick's dead" I went WTF and yelled at my phone screen. The convo Brittany remembered was probably deeper than she though, and its so sad she didn't really get to say goodbye, but at least he went without pain. Can't wait to see more, and don't worry I'm still friends lol
Author's Response: Yep you were right.. you thought it was sudden now, like I said on Yahoo, the original draft didn't even have the lead up. Just BAM! Nick's dead! lol. The convo with Nick was deeper than she thought. More will sort of come of that later. I'm sad she didn't get to say goodbye also, but the Nick stuff's not totally done yet.
