Ok so I am sorry I've been slacking on reviews but I adore this story so much. I love all these tiny details you put in, like Nick trying to sneak food or the color of something....everything has significance. I liked how Nick's changing a little bit due to AJ's heart....I also love how you've written Rochelle and Lauren. They seem just like I'd picture them in real life.
This chapter made me hungry for turkey burgers, I actually really like them. Also at the end with Rochelle about to listen to the voicemail....cannot wait for this next update, Hannah!

Oh God all I want to eat now is corned beef hash it's legit my favourite meal... I ate it every date in Vegas. I'm not even kidding. Yummmmm. Also love Diners Drive Ins and Dives... this diner Julia, Karen, Alicia and I went to the day after the cruise had actually been on the show! It had the guy's poster in it and everything. So cool. Uh anyway, about the story LOL. I feel so bad for Nick! I could just picture him standing outside the room and listening to everything. And I completely get where Rochelle's coming from - it must be so hard for her to see Nick living and breathing while AJ's dead, but this physical part of him lives on. I also loved the part where Nick was like "I wouldn't forget Rochelle." and how he mentioned she looks different. Those little things that you drop in just make this so realistic and interesting. Gah. I can't wait to see where this goes with the two of them, and with Lauren in the mix too since they're such good friends. I love this story so much, Hannah! It's fantastic!

ouch! that has got to be hard for Nick to hear. He was not exactly in a position to do anything about getting his heart and it's better his heart went to a friend instead of a stranger? well maybe not with all the drama that will happen. Nick noticed her eyes!! it's starting, the heart is "changing" him. ooooh and I the same thing watch the bad food on the show, 'cept then I'll turn around and eat bad food. LOL
Author's Response: They were eating the corned beef hash yesterday and Guy almost started crying he was so excited over it. lmao I WANTED IT SO BAD! Nick was very much having my reaction over the food. It's fun writing these scenes with him and Lauren interacting abot the food. LOL .... And Nick's in a really tough position because he chose none of it, and had no real choice even if he'd been given the options. It's a strange place. Thanks for the review!!

Well they seem okay with each other so far. I wonder how hard it was for Rochelle to act like that with Nick. And yes, I can see why Nick would feel guilty about eating a twix ... his heart is all they have left of AJ. This is so good Hannah, I am so glad I am reading this. UPDATE! :)

"She hadn't started to realize she was going crazy until she found herself looking for constellations of AJ's face in the stucco on the ceiling tiles." Love this line. I stare at the ceiling looking for images too, it is something I can see happening and can relate to.
LOL "I'm not Leighanne" I can totally see Leighanne dressing up the bridesmaids as little bo peep. HILIARIOUS!
I quite enjoy how you have depicted Rochelle's grief, it is written very realistically.
Author's Response: Rochelle's grief is really hard to write. I want it to be realistic, but also the story is moving quickly through time at this point so I didn't want to be melodramatic or too far detached from it yet either. Finding that mellow ground between was a challenge. I'm glad you found it realistic. Thank you for the review!

Ah the Panda explanation! :) I just love this story. I really like how you emphasize that Nick views it as AJ's heart aching, that he can't view it as his heart even though now it is.
Author's Response: I've heard of all kinds of stories where people can't identify with the new portion of their body, or where people have lost limbs and felt "phantom" limbs, things like that. I think it would be really weird to think about it, and that it would be hard to identify with the new heart once I knew. Just imagination happening, obvs. Thanks for the review.

oooooh I like how you had Nick pick up Rochelle at the airport...and how he's been sneaking food LOL that's so Nick. I really enjoyed the scene with him stealing the french fries and then using the blueberries as cover, haha! And I also really liked his "the heart that counts comment" that he made seemingly without even realizing. Great one as always :)
Author's Response: I originally had named this story "The Heart that Counts" but then I heard LWKYUAN and it kind of fits the story so I decided to use the BSB song reference. Now rereading/editing this chapter I sorta wish I'd stuck with the original title. Just a little trivia. And LOL Nick with the blueberries was a fun thing to imagine when I wrote it. :) Thanks once more for the review ...MUAH!

Ooooh, so now Rochelle is going to go live with them and a bunch of drama will ensue! I can't wait! I love reading about Lauren and Rochelle in this story - I think Lauren is actually my favourite character in it so far! And the image of Nick walking around with his cell phone and leaving messages on AJ's voicemail is just heartbreaking. Update soon! Love it! :)

Awww. I loved this scene with Nick and Lauren, and I feel so bad for poor Nick. Of course he's feeling sort of guilty, but it's not his fault. And that he's the last to know - that sucks, but again, there was the obvious reason. Ack I just want to give him a big hug! And I totally understood Lauren wondering about the proposal, even though it didn't seem like the right time, but he had just asked so it's natural she would have been thinking about it and wondering if he was serious. I'm glad he asked again at the end of the chapter, but it was interesting the emphasis you put on AJ's heart in the last line! Ahhh I can't wait to see where this goes and I am loving every word!
