You already know how I feel about this chapter but if this were real life Chris would never be near that hospital room. Code silver or purple would be blaring throughout that hospital.
Author's Response: I actually thought of that and looked it up, but I couldn't find anything that fit the situation, other than that many hospitals page doctor codename to specific areas in the hospital, (i.e., "Dr. Firestone" could mean there's a fire in the area they page the codename to). My rationale is this: Nick wouldn't have heard the page in all the commotion anyway, and Chris pretty much knew where he was going. I wrote an entire chapter that leads from the waiting room chapter to this point from Chris's point of view to explore how he would pull off getting to this point. I might post the chapter from Chris's POV on my website at some point as a behind the scenes sort of thing just so people can follow how he got there.
