I don't normally read Nick stories but this is really good. I'm really enjoying it. I can't believe how fast that bitch poisoned Addie against her best friend! I hope Nick is telling the truth and he isn't using her to make Cora jealous.

When I set out I was trying to keep a distance from liking Addison's character on my end so this part wouldn't be so tough to write but I ended up liking her too much! Now it's hard to get this bit out! Aah! lol But yes, there's still time for Nick and Sam.... or is there? Hmm...

This whole story has me very perplexed. First I'm thinking one thing, then go naaaa..and dismiss it. What's got me confused is the first prologue. He tells her something that totally alters everything she thought she knew about him. After these last few chaters, I was thinking, hmmm, did he tell her he just used her to make Cora jealous? But then again, why would he tell her not to tell anybody. The 2nd prologue you posted got me to thinking, was he using Cora to bust up her and Hugh so he could have HUGH (the big headline being that he's gay)...but then why use Sam like that?
I love stories like this...ones that keep you guessing..ones where you don't figure it out early in the story. You seem to be a master at this..lol By the ending I'll probably have cooked up some more senerios in my itty bitty brain. Keep it up! This thing has me on the edge of my seat!

Author's Response: hahaha Awesome! I love your theories. The gay thing never even crossed my mind, that would be a good secret! haha... My goal is, of course, to keep you guessing. The more you guess, the more I feel like I've accomplished at what I'm doing. I think the secret is going to toss you up even more... especially once we get past the point of the prologue... ;) Thank you for the theories. They really do help me know what needs to be done with the story to keep it exciting and clear! They're deeply appreciated!! :)

Didn't think he would be the one with the sense to stop. Finally I have some respect for him. I mean he is still totally going to screw her over when Cora comes crying back and I feel like something is going to happen with Addison. :/ But otherwise I love how they got to know each other a bit better.
p.s do you like arrested development? in the new episodes theres an annoying catchy song called get away get away and every time I see this title I sing it in my head.
Author's Response: I've never seen Arrested Development... The title actually game from the cliched phrase "The One that Got Away", which was the original title. It wasn't until I designed the banners that I chose to drop the words "The One that". :) ....I was surprised too when I was writing the chapter that Nick was the one that stopped the action. Originally he WAS supposed to be on the phone when Samantha came back, then Samantha was supposed to hesitate like she did in the bathroom scene, but somehow when I wrote the moment it was all on Nick. There's hope for this character yet. ;) Haha

Awww. Well he gained some of my respect by telling her he'd wait. I also like that he apologized for his behavior and they got to know each other a bit...but I still say he's gonna screw this up.
