I'm finally playing catch up here! I'm glad no one but Jones believes Nick did it. I hate when characters are quick to turn against someone they love and trust just because the "evidence" suggests they did something wrong. I wonder if someone did deliberately frame Nick by getting his DNA under Annie's mother's fingernails somehow, or if there's another explanation. I'm glad his lawyer's on his way!

You did a great job with the bromance in this chapter. I love that he confided in Kevin, that seemed very natural.
So, was Jane cheating on Bob with Frank? And Bob was aware of it? This suddenly makes Bob go from primo douchebag to pretty good, responsible guy for not throwing Jane out on her ass and disowning his brother. Instead staying with her and not abandoning her and the baby. Congrats! That's not easy to achieve when it comes to Bob Carter! Of course there's still no helping Jane! LOL
Author's Response: You know, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to fully explain the whole Frank/Bob/Jane thing. In my head, I imagine she was with Frank first, and moved on to Bob after he was in jail, which might explain some of the dysfunction in that relationship from a fanfic point of view. However, it's not really all that important to the plot of this particular story in my head, so I might leave that up to the imaginations of my readers.
And thanks on the compliments on the bromance. I struggled and struggled with this chapter, and it still didn't feel exactly right, but I was tired of looking at it. haha

Author's Response: Yeah...I wasn't sure how that whole thing would be received, but I wanted to make sure to establish a motive for the death of Annie's parents. There is definitely more to this, to somewhat answer one of your questions from the featured story thread. Hopefully, I will have time to go and answer all of those after I get home from work this evening.

Wow, quite the chapter this one.
I haven't read FILA (that's the correct abbreviation, right? ), so I am kinda confused as to what Nick is thinking back to that happened in January. Or maybe people who did read FILA don't know either?
That would be quite the shocker, if it turns out Andrew is still alive. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Yes, Andrew still being alive would be something else, wouldn't it? ;) To help you out with your comments about what happened back in January, that's one of those things that only the FILA readers are going to know at this point, and I may keep it that way. I want this story to be able to stand alone with enough background story given that the new readers aren't totally confused, since it's a different genre. However, I also want to leave some things a mystery in the event that some new readers decide to go back and read the original.
