Awww that thing Kevin said to Nick almost made me cry. 'almost' because I am in the office and there are other people around me, but had I been reading at home, I would have shed tears by now. Poor Nicky... he wanted his friends to save him but he wanted them to be safe as well. Mixed emotions are not good. Sending you some love, Nicky. :)

I did not have any time to read this week, so I'm finally catching up on all the chapters I missed! Tim reminds me of Annie Wilkes from Misery, which is a compliment because she is one of my favorite villains in published fiction. I enjoyed him once again in this chapter! Poor Nick... at least he is realizing something is really wrong with him, not that he can do anything about it, except try to convince Tim. I guess it'd be better for Nick's mental state if he were still oblivious to how badly he might be hurt. It was so sad to imagine him thinking of the guys, wishing they were there to protect him, yet not wanting them to come after him and get shot. Great chapter! Reading on!

Tim is awful! The fact that they didn't come shows they would help protect Nick and it's hard because he doesn't see it.

Well look at that, Kevin was right. I'd be sad if I was Nick too, but I'm glad they listened. Tim's so creepy: "Good Boy", there's a part of me that secretly loves his creepiness. Now it's off to the cabin...been waiting for this part!

Oh, how I LOVED the image of little Nick hiding behind Kevin as a human shield. I think that speaks volumes about their relationship. I don't like Nick falling asleep. I'm sure his body needs rest, but I'm worrying about the prospect of him not waking up.... Well, that's morbid isn't it? On a lighter note, I really liked the AA Milne at the beginning. Really fitting.
Author's Response: The thought of a tiny Nick hiding behind Kevin made me kind of giggly too, I love their relationship (obviously lol). And as far as Nick being sleepy, it does make sense to worry about that. I was so excited when I found that poem! I thought it was a perfect fit as well! Nick :( not having the strength to fight or get away and feeling helpless :( :( Tim is a whacko offering him Tums and aspirin. I don't think he realizes how bad Nick is right now. I am relieved that the boys didnt go after them but I kinda wanted someone to. Great update and glad I can review normally again!

I'm so glad the review function is back!
Tim is a complex character isn't he, one minute he's coming across as this really caring and friendly guy and then the next minute he's a complete crazy loon!
I felt sorry for Nick when the others didn't come after him, but I'm glad they didn't either as otherwise Tim would've gunned them down in front of him. It must've been hard for them to let Nick leave with him.
Loving this story so much :)

I bet I would have felt sad but relief kind of like he did. You don't want them to get killed but you also want them to try to save you! Poor guys, not an easy choice for them either!
Yeah, there's a lot of layers to Tim. I wish he was the 6th Backstreet Boy but maybe that can be the sequel! LOL
