Poor Howie :( his wife taking off to NJ without him makes sense but I still feel bad for him being on his own with all that. Plus now Nick is being a jerk, also understandable even though he is a little harsh. It is nick after all. I think maybe Lauren won't flip out on Nick cause of how she reacted to the cheating, but you never k.ow. looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, Tracy! I'm glad everyone's reactions seemed understandable, if not the most understanding. Technically Lauren already knows about everything; Nick told her in the last chapter, but this chapter backtracked a bit, so he hadn't told her yet when he talked to Howie. I just thought someone should react without flying off the handle, and Lauren seems pretty level-headed and supportive of Nick. I think Leigh reacted worse because her child was affected too, whereas Lauren doesn't have that and doesn't even know if she's infected yet or not. Thanks again!!

It really made me mad when Howie was kinda hoping Lauren would leave Nick so HE could have him. Just...WOW! Dude really needs to make up his mind...and fast. Its not fair to Leigh.
The last chapter made me think that after talking to Lauren and how she took the news might soften Nick's attitude towards Howie. Guess this took place BEFORE that that convo with her so I guess we shall see what happens when Howie goes back out to LA.
Can't wait till the next chapter!!!

I went back and forth about whether or not to include Q, but since I was writing this in real time, it was either include it or pretend it never happened, and I thought it would be better to acknowledge it than ignore it. So it's in there. LOL Poor Howie was a bit delusional with that hope. I think he honestly does love Leigh, as the mother of his children, but not in the way he should, and he's confused about that. Yeah, this chapter kind of backtracked a bit, so Nick hadn't told Lauren yet when he talked to Howie. We'll see if his attitude softens afterwards. Thanks so much for the review, Jen!

now i think nick already had it before and got it from lauren I think that because of her reaction(or lack there of lol). she didnt act too shocked... so my guess is that she knew she had it and never told nick? could be totally wrong. hope we find out those details also.

Amazing chapter yet again Julie, but I did laugh at Nick admitting he'd always been a crap actor.
I liked Lauren's response to the news, it was very believable, I wonder how she'll test though.

I wanted her to react differently than Leigh or Nick did when Howie told them; someone needed to show a little compassion for a change LOL.

Hmmm. I somehow think the fact Lauren was not freaking out to be highly suspicious. I mean it is nice that she was supportive, but I know if I found out my fiancé hooked up- I would be at least a little pissed off. Something is off, maybe I reading into it but it seems really odd.
On another note great chapter and can't wait to see more!

Just catching up on the chapters I missed. I want to hug Howie so much in this chapter. He feels so guilty I keep thinking about the prologue....but I am gonna hold off on my guessing when it comes to that because knowimg you it isn't what I think LOL. I am still Team Howie. I liked that the guys were very rational and sympathetic to his situation, even Nick, and that they are giving him time.
Part of me still thinks Nick is gonna test positive because after all this is you and there is no way in hell Nick will be perfectly healthy in a story where everybody is getting AIDS :p Reading on :)

I feel so heart broken for Howie. To tell the guys must've been tough, but he has their love and support, even Nick dropped the hostile act when he knew how seriously ill Holden was.
I wonder how long it'll take for the media and fans to find out? Will they give him a hard time about it and make shit up? I can't wait to see!

Love the suspense of it all. It was startling when Kevin interrupted Howie texting Nick. This is so accurate to real life that I almost feel like tweeting "@howied: We know your secret. It's okay, we still love you and good luck on your treatments." Howie would probably be very attentive to the doctor's recommendations and not repeat the mistake of not taking care of his condition like the way Caroline sometimes neglected her health and lupus treatments. I'll await Nick's results :D

This whole chapter was so believable: AJ being the hardest hit, Brian not wanting to know the truth, Kevin insisting that they pull out of the remaining shows, Howie tearing up on stage, Nick worrying about his own secret but feeling bad for Holden at the same time, and the fans speculating about what's going on. Well done! I can't wait to see where you take this!

I'm actually a fan of being able to incorporate how the guys are feeling into the lyrics of their songs-- particularly songs they've written--if a writer can do it well. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen all that often in the fanfic world, but you did it beautifully here.
