Author's Response: Thanks for giving it a try! You know I don't normally write slash, so there had to be something more there. I wrote the short story as a challenge just to see if I could write a slash seriously, but this is really what happens when I try to write "slash" LOL. Don't worry, it's definitely going to be more medical drama angst than slash. I'm glad you're eager to read more! Thanks for the review!

I was thinking that even a drunk Nick would not have "gone" that far... So maybe there was hope you wouldnt give Nick a deadly disease but I should count on you to NOT not do that to him.
And then I thought even if it went that far the chance of contracting it the first time is much less then say Leigh getting it... But again I know you and well again I should know better.
Onward.... With the story!

Where to begin?? I suppose that I should start at the beginning. LOL First, I was somewhat reluctant to give this story a chance simply because of the "slash" content. However, I read the prequel and I have to say that you did an excellent job at portraying Nick and Howie's emotions/behaviours/thoughts, etc. Now on to this story (and to this chapter in particular)! OMG! I am honestly trying to imagine what I would do if I were in Leigh's position. I can't even fathom being in such a heart-wrenching situation. Poor Holden! I wonder how this will translate in terms of Nick. I have a feeling that if you've already gone this far that you will take it to the next level and have Nick be infected as well. To make a long story short, I am now fully invested in this story and I can't wait for the next update!!

I suspected it last chapter and now it's true! Knew it! Also know chances of Nick getting or from Howie by oral sex are slim since Nick was on the receiving end of the deal, even tho Nick bit his tongue and Howie was bleeding. Without any open wounds present, saliva is actually a bad transporter and even if you ingest such a little amount of hiv + blood chances are slim. Love it tho as a medical person myself and Im very curious to see where you take it!!

Well, first of all: Holy angst, Julie! Second, the thought actually crossed my mind when she called it "some specific type of pneumonia." I pretty much knew what would happen when she said they were worried about his immune system. I'm a medical person, a family member of mine has HIV-- it's just where my mind goes to.
