It hurts my heart that Kevin wasn't able to show his emotions the way he wanted to. We all know he's the crybaby of the group anyway. But for him to just hold in his emotions for Nick's sake sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Ever since they found out Nick was "dead" I have been waiting, no, YEARNING for him to break that older-brother-who-has-to-stay-strong-for-everyone-else façade. I need him to have a release. Kevin being my favorite in the group, it's particularly hard read him struggling inwardly like this.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! Yes, I have to agree with your feelings. I can remember writing this and becoming "frustrated" with Kevin for not allowing himself to "feel" and to properly express his grief. I know that Kevin is often very emotional, but I could totally see him forcing himself to be "strong" and "tough" in a high-stress situation such as this one. Anyways, I really appreciated your comments as I think you were one of the only people to comment on Kevin's character. Thanks again!

Oh crap! I was so busy being glad Nick was alive that the thought never crossed my mind! I'm guessing that the whole thing is a little more sinister then everyone thought. Lauren better come home quick!

I love how well thought out this was in explaining just HOW this mistake was made. And why Nick didn't know all this was going on lol. He's in some serious danger and I can't wait to see where this shall go now that he's back in the mix.

I'm back! Finally all moved in, done with classes, and ready to catch up on some fanfic! I have a lot of reading to do, but I'm looking forward to it! I had to find where I'd left off. I like how you explained Nick's lack of communication through the guys' questions and his answers. It seems a little bit too convenient, but still plausible that he could be that out of the loop. Now I'm wondering about this so-called stalker guy who went out of his way to look just like Nick. Creepy. Was he a harmless weirdo who got himself , or is there more to the story than that? I'm thinking there's more. Looking forward to finding out! The beauty of falling so far behind is that I don't have to wait for chapters for awhile! :)
Author's Response: Yay! I'm glad that you're back! I actually had to go back and look at this chapter before I could respond to your review. It's amazing how quickly I forget what happened in what chapter of my own story! LOL Yes, the fact that Nick was so cut off from the rest of the world was quite convenient, but I needed a way for him to come back and Nick isn't exactly the most observant person in the world so I thought that it could be plausible. Tee Hee

Author's Response: I actually heard Stan on the radio while I was doing the outline for this story and that's how I got the idea for the look-a-like. I still find that video to be super creepy!

oh for god sakes, hug him Kevin. I really think your portrayal of Kevin's inability to show how he feels about Nick is well done, it felt realistic. I also loved how jealous he was of all the other guys relationships with Nick.
I like that the reason Lauren wouldn't answer her phone was because of the "cleanse", but she had a point. They didn't leave any messages. I liked all Nick's reasons for not knowing anything but something tells me that the person who is after him is not done yet. Great chapter!
Author's Response: Kevin always seems to hang back a little bit. I really love the rare moments when he shares an "emotional moment" with one of the other guys. Sometimes he does look kind of jealous of how the others interact with each other. Although, I think that he often tries to cover it up by being overly serious or looking annoyed. I think you're right in terms of the person not being done with the boys just yet. ;)

Oh Kevin, just hug the boy! I enjoyed the interrogation they gave him. I would have been asking him all the same questions. Still not sure what engagement island is. It sounds like it should be a reality show on MTV or something lol Now onto the interesting question of who would want Nick dead, unless the entire thing was nothing but a huge coincidence although I have a feeling that's not the case.Great chapter. I'm glad he's back in the mix. I missed his interactions with the other guys.
Author's Response: I know!! Ugh! Kevin can be so frustrating at times! Engagement Island is the nickname that Nick and Lauren gave to the supposedly super secluded island that he proposed to her on. I heard him use the nickname on an interview or something. I probably should have explained that, but I figured that if I had heard it than everyone else would have as well (as I'm not the biggest Nick fan in the world - LOL). Sorry for the confusion! On with the mystery!

Hurray for plot development! As a reader, it was difficult to go from the previous highly emotional chapters to this much more analytical one, but part of that is evidently Kevin's perspective and the way he's decided he has to deal with the situation, which I did find believable.
Crazy series of coincidences, but it worked well enough..
Glad the guys are back together and looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: I'm glad that you picked up on the more serious/logical vibe of this chapter. I just couldn't bring myself to write a highly emotional chapter from Kevin's perspective at this point. It just didn't seem to fit with his usual mindset. He seems like an analyzer to me, and I figured that he would want to get "all of his ducks in a row" in order to find out where Nick had been. The next chapter will bring us back to Brian and Nick, so you can bet that it will be more emotional. :)

aw i kinda felt bad for Kevin, like he is missing that connection how Brian and Nick have.
but really Holy Coincidence, everything that happened with Nick was like fate didn't want him being found. Ok I have a feeling Nick is in danger and even possibly the guys. Great chapter! Can't wait for more!
