Author's Response: Hahahaha! It seems pretty plausible that Nick could eat a muffin in two bites. I think that most men probably could. I, on the other hand, would choke and make a fool out of myself.

LMFAO! Okay Nick's pretending they were a couple about killed me. So much for them not getting any attention! I like how it got dark for a moment as they really took in the seriousness of their situation and then you managed to naturally bring it back to a lighter note again. That takes some skill. :)
Author's Response: Thanks! I think that I had to bring it back to a lighter moment in order to preserve my own sanity. LOL - Writing about all of this depressing stuff is kind of challenging. I have massive respect for all the writers who are able to do it so well and so often.

I loved this chapter even more than the last one! Frick and Frack... I love the way you write them together! Even though this takes place more or less in the present, it has an old-school fanfic vibe that I adore. The muffin scene cracked me up, and that was hilarious how Nick let the cashier think they were a couple - although, as Brian realized at the end, so much for remaining inconspicuous! That may come back to haunt them. Still, great scene!!
Author's Response: Frick and Frack will forever hold a special place in my heart. I love trying to bring their past relationship into the present. It's fanfic, so I feel as though that gives me enough justification to do whatever it is that makes me happy. LOL Although, the two of them do seem to be pretty close again - LOVE!

This was a very cute, yet morbid chapter. There's a sentence you don't hear very often. Now that takes skill. Of course I knew it was going to be a great Frick and Frack bonding one and you didn't disappoint. I loved how in the midst of having fun they had all these dark thoughts they were trying to sort out. Also loved the whole self depreciating thing. I actually had to go back and reread that because my eyes and brain just naturally read it right the first time. Very clever and very Nick. LOL
As far as the challenge goes, last year I think we had about 10 people. As of now we have 4 but it's still early. It's a great way to really get to know each other. Every year I find a new fanfic friend just by commenting on their stories. Also a great way to find new authors you might not have ever considered reading otherwise.
Author's Response: I will take your cute/morbid chapter comment as a compliment!! - LOL It drives me CRAZY when Nick mispronounces words. UGH!! Sometimes, I just want to reach out and shake him. That being said, I just couldn't resist having him do it in the story. As you said, it's very Nick.

I was laughing so hard reading this. Well the end of this. I loved the serious convo Nick and Brian had. I loved how you went from comedy to serious to comedy through the chapter. I must say, this is my favorite chapter of the story. On a side note, Nick doing a cd and tour with Jordan Knight? Yeah Nick is on the bad boy list in my head right now, I might be ok with you torturing him a bit:D
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it so much to label it your "favourite chapter". - LOVE! OMG in response to the Nick and Knight nonsense. He would have been better off just releasing another solo album. I honestly don't know why the boys think that it's such an amazing thing to collaborate with the guys from NKOTB. Of course, I will likely listen to the album just to see how it is.

I think this has to be the most enjoyable part since chapter 14! I love how Nick took it upon himself to make the shopping trip fun and do everything that Brian didn't want him to... especially attracting attention and pretending to be a couple in front of the cashier. I'm sure he had more than one motive in mind--not only make it so they'd have to do the next shopping trips together, but also get a great reaction out of Brian. ;)
On a more serious note, I thought the discussion about whether they are likely to be killed was spot on... who wouldn't be thinking about that, and they were pretty honest with each other. It makes me wonder whether the 'crazy guy' has a particular order in mind and for what reason.
I hope Nick's scheme goes as planned, because it would be great to have more shopping trips, where the normalcy of that setting and the fun of pretending are juxtaposed with the situation at hand and the guys' troubled frame of mind.
Really enjoyed the writing in this chapter, too. Looking forward to the next chapter and finding out what's been going on back at the house!

What's the point in making them friends again if I can't have them joke around a get into a little bit of trouble?? - LOL The next chapter will flip back to Howie and you will get to see how he's feeling about all of this. I'm so glad that you're still reading and enjoying the story. Things will start to pick back up within the next few chapters. :)

This is sooo cool!! I love it, brian and nick in the grocery store, doing all those brotherly acts and even pretending to be lovers. it knocked me out! I can't stop smiling and laughing. But still, danger is ahead, i can sense it. :) I hope that some action will happen eventually. cause brian and nick are right, there is a possibility that they might not make it through this alive. Though i hope you won't be that cruel, cause itll really break our hearts if they die. haha! but a little pain and torture may not be so bad. XD your the awesome writer! so i cant wait for the next updates. thank you very much for keeping up this story going!! :D
Author's Response: Your senses are definitely correct. There is some danger lurking not so far away. The action will pick up in the next few chapters. Right now, I'm just taking some time to give you an idea about how everyone is feeling. I'm glad that you enjoyed the bit about them going shopping and joking around. It wouldn't be Brian and Nick if they didn't get in to trouble, right?? LOL

Love it! The lady watching them throw around the produce though, lmao! There was some serious notes in this one though, what with Nick asking Brian if he thinks that they will die. Yikes. Can't imagine how I would answer that either. A part of me wanted Brian to lie, I know Nick is grown but I do get a sense of innocence from him. (What fun would it be to lie though right? Hehe). Nick's plan to make them seem like a couple to always be the ones shopping was a nice touch. The cashier probably doesn't have many gay couples popping through. She'll probably want to be their best friend. Small town, everyone knows everything about everyone. Just sayin'. Look forward, as always, to the next chapter.
Author's Response: I tired to throw in some humour to lighten the mood a bit. I knew that the talk about heaven and dying was going to be pretty depressing. I think everyone's first inclination would be to protect Nick by lying to him, but you're right - where's the fun in that? I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your consistent feedback.
