Ouch Howie! That comment was a little harsh. He's right about them needing to step up and help but the way you get there attention could be a little more civil.

Author's Response: You have gone on a crazy binge reading this story! I love it! Poor Howie - He was just trying to express himself (for once).

Awww poor Howie but he's not wrong, he was the unappreciated one for so long. It's gotten better but he still is in a few ways and the stress can't be helping any. LMAO at Nick being stuck in the barbie room.

Author's Response: I really do feel bad for Howie ... even now. I'm totally guilty of overlooking him as well. Even at concerts, I find that I hardly pay any attention to what Howie is doing. In all fairness, my friend and I are usually too busy trying to get Brian's attention to do much else. Hahaha Still, it must be hard for Howie to know that he's kind in the background for a lot of the fan base.

I forgot to say it in my last review, but I thought the part where Brian talked about Kevin hating his friendship with Nick was interesting. I've never considered that he might have been sort of jealous of how quickly Brian and Nick bonded back in the beginning, but I could see him feeling that way. Which brings me to Howie... poor Howie! I laughed at the visual of him taking out his anger by cramming the lettuce into the crisper. You captured his personality so well in the way he tried and failed to insult AJ. He always seems so calm and collected that I doubt he explodes like that often, but when he does, it's probably pretty hilarious! The descriptions of the different bedrooms and their fight over them was funny, too. I'm enjoying all the comic relief after how sad this story started, but I'm sure it won't stay like that for long, knowing they might be in danger.

Author's Response: Thanks for the comments about Howie's character. I find it incredibly hard to write Howie. Honestly, I know next to nothing about the man. Half of the time, I kind of forget that he's around. *hides face in shame* That being said, I can totally see his attempt to insult someone ending in an epic fail! Poor Howie! All I'm gonna say about the humour, is that you better enjoy it while it lasts ... :O

Well, I have to say it was pretty refreshing to see Howie standing up for himself, even if the fit he pitched didn't seem to get the point across to anyone else.. which was not so surprising. ;) I love how in each chapter we see the action through each character's eyes, so that what seemed amusing and charmingly rebellious in the last chapter (i.e., buying too many of Nick's favourite cookies) becomes a sign of self-centredness and irresponsibility from Howie's POV.
Loved the humour you injected into this chapter also.. I had to laugh about the 80's flower explosion in the guest bedroom and how Nick, the person who objected most violently to the pink Barbie room, ended up getting saddled with it. Definitely looks like a situation that will encourage Nick's jealousy on all fronts. ;)
Definitely felt (mostly in a good way) a bit like a reenactment of the Boys' supposed claiming of bedrooms when they rented that house in Soho.

After this episode, I wonder if the guys will be able to cooperate long enough for some collective dinner making. :)

Hope the next chapter comes along soon! Keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Howie sure did give it a good try. It just didn't work out the way that he wanted it to. *sigh* Perhaps that means that he will have to try again later on. I HAD to give Nick the Barbie bedroom!! It just wouldn't have been right to give it to anybody else. :) As far as the collaboration goes, you'll have to wait and see. What happens next will either drive the guys apart or bring them closer together ...

I LOL'd at Howie's supposed insult to AJ and how his little tantrum basically went unnoticed by the other guys, poor D! It was so hard reading this and wanting to not yell at Howie how he and Nick are more of a pairing than he and Brian nowadays! LOL but that's real life getting in the way of fiction one. Don't you hate when that happens? It really must be hard being in a group of five because someone almost always is left out of things. It was also sad how he reflected on if anyone would care if he was the one who was dead. :O( poor guy!

Author's Response: I love how everyone is feeling bad for Howie at this point. I really do feel bad for him sometimes. It's funny that you bring up the Howie/Nick pairing as their relationship will be touched on as the story progresses. When it comes to the boys, sometimes I seriously have to stop and think about whether or not I'm remembering something that happened in real life or in a fictional situation. (That probably can't be a good thing...LOL). Also, I am still planning on doing the reading challenge. I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Life is getting in the way. :(

Ha ha Nick gets the barbie dream room! Poor Howie exploding like that. He is so over looked I am glad he let some of his feelings out. He should really explode more often. Great job with the chapter, looking forward to the next

Author's Response: Of course Nick got the pink room!! As if I would even think about giving it to anyone else. :) Poor Howie is right. I wonder if he actually feels bad about the fact that he is kind of passed over by a lot of us fans (I am pretty guilty of doing that myself, although he was super nice when I met him).

First grumpy Kevin made an appearance now frustrated Howie rears his head in. Excellent! I quite enjoy this chapter. I know Howie is seriously mad in this one.... But because he seems so neutral all the time, I couldn't help but laugh at his actions. That last line though, is there going to be a fight? Like throw Nick out in his underwear fight? If you know what I'm talking about. Hehe

Author's Response: Hahah! Unfortunately, there will not be THAT kind of a fight. Poor Howie. I have to admit that I laughed a few times while writing this chapter ... the idea of him freaking out just seems so ridiculous. Although, I'm sure that he must lose his cool every once in a while.
