Yay, more A-Rok bromance! The last line made me laugh. I really like your unique portrayal of Brian in this story, how you're going beyond the stereotype of him being this pussy-whipped holy roller. I also like that I'm getting the old Frick and Frack vibe from how hard he's taking Nick's death. I know they grew apart over the years, but it does seem like they've been closer since Nick got his shit together, and I do think Brian would take it incredibly hard (as they all would) if anything like this ever happened. It's a good thing AJ was there for him. Like I said, I'm loving the bromance!! You're doing such an awesome job writing the guys' emotions and interactions with each other. I love this story!!!
Author's Response: I like that you're appreciating my portrayal of Brian. I just couldn't bring myself to make him (to use your words) a "pussy-whipped holy roller". In my mind, Brian is so much more than that. It sometimes feels as though he's hiding stuff about himself ... like he has this inner "bro" who is just dying to come out. In regards to your bromance comment, there will be plenty more as the story goes along!! Thanks again for another wonderful review!

Hm... the mystery deepens! It was nice to get a little more information, but now I have more questions than ever! Was that really Nick? If so, who was the guy he was with? Did he really go back to using? Where the hell is Lauren? Ahh, I'm dying to know, but I love that you're keeping me in suspense! Keep up the great work on this story!!!
Author's Response: I figured that I would throw everyone a bone and let the detectives have their say. Although, you're right in the sense that I just ended up creating even more questions. Oooops! You'll just have to keep reading to find out the answers. I know that it's been kind of a slow start, but everything will eventually come together.

There were so many small details in this chapter that just broke my heart! The fact that Nick still used Brian's birthday as his security code... the fact that they were working on songs together... and the line about Nacho not realizing his "daddy" was never coming home. :'( So sad! It was interesting to see how each guy is reacting differently even now that they're all together. I wonder what the cops will have to say. Reading on!
Author's Response: Awwwww - all of the details that you mentioned almost made me tear up while I was writing them. I'm happy that you appreciated them enough to mention them. I'm really trying to make sure that each of the guys comes across as their own person with their own reactions (i.e. they're all doing more than just sitting around and crying).

Ah, a cliffy. Always nice to end a chapter with a cliffhanger. I love the way you made Howie blow up in this chapter. It seems so out of character but yet, we know he has it in him. I enjoy reading Howie and Kevin together. Their chemistry has always been a special one. The only thing missing is Nick. It's so weird reading a story where he's the center but yet not present. I keep expecting to read a chapter from his point of view and I have a feeling I will be.
Author's Response: Howie almost seems too calm to me sometimes. I figured that he deserved an opportunity to vent some of his frustrations. He's one of those people who I can see holding everything in and then losing his mind in the most random of situations. (In this case, it was at a poor rental car agent. LOL) I appreciate that you liked the Kevin and Howie combination. I find Howie very difficult to write and I feel that he is often left out in a lot of stories. So, I've been trying my best to include him as much as possible in this one. To give you a small teaser, you will definitely get a chapter from Nick's point of view.

Just read all of the chapter, and what a great story! My mind was thinking of all the possiblities in each chapter. where is lauren, what is going to be done about contacting nick's family? and so on...
The reactions seem very natural so that is nice to read. Really enjoyed each chapter (except if Howie was in Toronto why wouldn't he go to Tim Horton's, why settle for Starbucks, haha). Can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: I'm glad that you're enjoying things so far. Hopefully, all of your questions will be answered sooner rather than later. I laughed out loud at the Tim Horton's comment!! I should have placed Howie in a Timmy's. What was I thinking?? Although, I kind of needed there to be a slow moving line and a waiting crowd. For the most part, Timmy's is too efficient to have such a scene. :)

This was a heartbreaking chapter. I actually got a little choked up when AJ mentioned how Ava would never know Nick. I very rarely get emotional when reading fanfics although I also tend to stay away from the whole death thing too. lol Sadly, I can completely see Leighanne acting the way you have portrayed her. Cold and selfish. I'm glad that Brian had AJ to travel down to TN with. As far as Lauren...It's sad to say I'm hoping she ends up being the dead one and Nick is actually alive and well. Great chapter.
Author's Response: I'm pleased that you became a little choked up at AJ's comments, but I'm sorry that I made you emotional. I think you've mentioned before that you usually stay away from death centered stories, and I'm thrilled that you're continuing to read this one. I know that I have started off a little slowly, but things will get more interesting as the plot moves forward. Also, I think that most people would agree with you in the sense that they would prefer for Lauren to be the dead one.

IF Lauren is still alive then she definitely had something to do with Nick's murder. If it was on CNN and apparently fans know so she has to know. Then nobody knows where she is or heard from her either? If my fiancee is murdered you best believe I will be contacting his family which in this case are the rest of the guys. As old folks will say, "Something in the water ain't clean" meaning something ain't right about this whole scenario. Another great story!!!

Lots of different emotions in this great chapter.
Things are looking a little different to me now.....The dogs food dish almost overflowing with food, I'm starting to suspect Lauren has something to do with what happened and knew she wasn't coming back.
So 'Nick' wasn't alone at this club? This will be interesting to find out if they can I'D who this person is. I'm afraid that Kevin will ultimately have to go to the morgue and make an identification of the body.
Like the equal feelings of distaste in Jane LOL.

Things are not looking so good as far as Lauren is concerned. A lot of people are now pegging her as the murderer. :O Ha! I couldn't resist slipping the Jane bit in there at the end.

I am so sorry I haven't been reviewing, things have been ridiculous at work. I am really loving the last few chapters. Loved Howie blowing a gasket, that was very emotional and realistic. I loved Brian and AJ in the car and the scene of Nacho running in not knowing his owner was coming home :( the part with Brian's little anxiety attack made me cry. You have such a way of capturing everything. Been a while since I read anything like this. Excellent job.
