Ahh, I love it!! My stomach was all clenched up reading this chapter. I gotta find out what happens to Brian! I think it's perfect that you made the worse thing happen to him, not only because it makes sense that Charlie would want revenge on Brian specifically for taking his place, but also because you've shown throughout the story that Brian is basically the magnetic center of the group; everyone else is drawn to him. Without him, they would fall apart. I'm wondering if something will still happen to Nick, though, since he's the only one who hasn't gotten hurt. If he makes it out of this unscathed, it will be the only time that's ever happened to him in a fanfic!! LOL
Author's Response: I tend to present Nick as being the center of the group, so I decided to change things up this time to show what it would be like with Brian as the "necessary" member. In reality, I don't think that the group could run as a foursome without Nick or Brian (or even AJ for that matter). Sorry Howie and Kevin!! In reference to Nick not getting hurt; there's always a first time for everything!!

So much emotional turmoil. My favorite kind of chapter.
So, the un-subs end game was to rid the world of Brian because he thinks Brian ruined his career/life? Creepy!
Will we get to see an interrogation? I'm curious as to what Charles will say.i know he's a crazy nut but I love criminal minds and how they get inside of the mind of the suspects. They see the world so different.
I hope Brian makes it. Two thumbs up for the update!
Author's Response: It is pretty creepy. Charles has some issues. Poor guy. Although, he was cheated out of a lot of money ... and fame ... and thousands of adoring fans ... I suppose that I would be pretty bitter about that too. However, I would probably stop short of trying to kill the person who I thought was responsible. LOL

I knew it! I knew it! lol I thought that the unsub could be one of the two guys who were in the group before Kevin and Brian came. But I couldn't and didn't remember their name (as in "Brian wasn't there so I couldn't give a care about it) so I wasn't sure about that idea. Glad it turned out to be right! lol My years of being a Criminal Minds and Sherlock fans aren't wasted! lol

You broke my heart. I first read the chapter while I was having dinner and I had to force myself not to cry. The most heartbreaking thing is that I can totally see that happening in real life: I can totally see Nick (or Brian) not being able to survive and go on if the other is gone.
And Aj... gosh, I don't think that even him could survive, not after how close they got over the years. ç_ç

Ps: whenever I see Howie on Twitter, my first thought is "You hate Brian! You were mean with him!" LOL See? That's how much involved I am with this story. lol*

I suppose as long as you don't actually say hateful things to Howie on Twitter then it's okay for you to think that he's a horrible person!! LOL It's crazy how the lines between fan fic and real life can blur so easily.
