Thank you for that honest reply in regards to Islam and the hijab. I didn't mean any disrespect or harm by my comment or suggestion. However, I'm glad that it was more of an ignorance derived from the character than rather the authors, which is what I was trying to ascertain.

Author's Response: Do you realize that if you actually sign into your account that you can reply to co-written stories in your own name? Brilliant. *blushes* Forgive my stupidity on that part after I prove to you that I am not ignorant. *sheepish* But, thank you. We don't mind explaining our actions as long as one is receptive to hearing our answer instead of just disreguarding our reasoning completely. We are not our characters. Trust me.

This is from the last chapter...

"Hell, she could make a statement against Afghanistan and wear one of those black drab, pieces of shit--"

I would really suggest that you rethink this line especially since those "black drab, pieces of shit" aren't necessarily a political statement but a form of dress that even though was enforced in Afghanistan, it is still a chosen way of life for many women practicing Islam. I do enjoy your writing but I felt this tainted Nick's character and your writing since the statement seemed to be ill informed.

Author's Response: This is Anastacia. I would have commented on my account since this story is co-written, but technology in AC hasn't allowed me the opportunity to do so. So, I ransacked my beloved Shrinkingviolet's account to speak to you directly. Thank you for the comment, but we're not going to change the line, because in fiction, as in life, people are not perfect. As I said to Shrinkingviolet as we discussed the paragraph - We cannot make all characters politically correct because not everyone in this world is politically correct. If we were to write a World War II piece, could you honestly have us write an SS Nazi complimenting the beliefs of the Jews? Life is not perfect, therefore fiction cannot be perfect. Characters have flaws. Nick is not well versed in cultural-politics. At least in our story. He is naive in many ways. There is no disrespect to Islam women and the hijab.

Oye vey in a half shell! As IF B.J. & angel had the NERVE to say that shit to Nicky!!!!! But I am SO amused to see Alana throw them out! Ha! Serves 'em right! Though, I can't really picture them acting like that - not unless B.J. was drunked & pissy - & Angel, eh.

And as IF the engagement secret got blurted!!!!!!! Poor Nicky!

And poor Baylee! That poor kid, all he wants is to spend time with Alana & everybody keeps stealing her from him. Though, I LOVED how he looked horrified when they thought Natalie was pregnant - hahahahaha!!!!!!
