Ok, it's me again. Just reread the new chapters and still think they're amazing though i had some thoughts. This story is quite unique and your writing is beautiful . Therefore I'm a bit worried to be honest about where this story will head and if it'll turn into a cliche like so many other stories. Like Nick and Alana drifting apart because of her career, I mean, Nick knows what it's all about and he thought it was a good idea for her to sign, so shouldn't he be supportive and understanding??
Bout Brian and Nat, then plz don't use the old boy&girl gets together, ex shows up, boy goes back to ex, girl finds someone to mend her broken heart, boy realizes what he has done, regret, boy tries to get girl back, girl doesn't trust boy, etc, etc .... finally they're together...
What I'm trying to say is that you have so much talent, so keep up the good work & keep the sory unique like it has been always

I would really suggest that you rethink this line especially since those "black drab, pieces of shit" aren't necessarily a political statement but a form of dress that even though was enforced in Afghanistan, it is still a chosen way of life for many women practicing Islam. I do enjoy your writing but I felt this tainted Nick's character and your writing since the statement seemed to be ill informed.

So, I ransacked my beloved Shrinkingviolet's account to speak to you directly. Thank you for the comment, but we're not going to change the line, because in fiction, as in life, people are not perfect. As I said to Shrinkingviolet as we discussed the paragraph - We cannot make all characters politically correct because not everyone in this world is politically correct. If we were to write a World War II piece, could you honestly have us write an SS Nazi complimenting the beliefs of the Jews? Life is not perfect, therefore fiction cannot be perfect. Characters have flaws. Nick is not well versed in cultural-politics. At least in our story. He is naive in many ways. There is no disrespect to Islam women and the hijab.
