Oh my... I'm just speechless hun. Wow... I need to collect my thoughts.
First off I want to give you so much props for writing a story like this. There's definitely a lack of good angst fics out there. I think a lot of writers are afraid to write a story that isn't sunshine and butterflies so its refreshing for a writer to take a story somewhere a little darker. To me those are the kinds of stories that stuck out in my mind. I love the fact that Shan had her selfish moments and really you wanted to hate her a bit. She's a lot more honest and real than othet fan fic heroines.
Nick's accident just totally caught me off guard. With only one chapter left I'm not thinking this is going to end very happily, but I'll have to see. Awesome job!
Author's Response: Thanks so much Mel, not a lot of people appriciate the angst genre and I have no idea why. It's such a great genre, I mean it would be awful if someones life was like Shan's but the reality is there could be someone out there in a similar situation. Someone who has been so downtrodden but abuse that they have lost sight of who they are, feel that they should punish themselves because of what someone else has done. She deserves to have her selfish moments and really I don't think she is doing them for that, she is doing it to protect herself, to protect her daughter even though it is quite clearly the wrong decision! rn
To be honest Nick's accident totally caught me off guard too! I knew it was going to take a lot for her to realise, and I wanted it to be realistic, I didn't want him chasing her to the gate, professinhis love again and for her to change her mind like that, she is far too stubborn! He needed to show her he would do anything for them, and he did, he sacrificed himself and it has taken maybe loosing him for her to realise. Sad thing is it just might be too late! Thanks for the review hun!

Man, I'm definitely in tears from this. It's so horrible. And only two chapters left? Dang, are you going to do a sequel? I sure hope so. I'm sure all of us would love that. Dang, I hope that Nick's going to be okay. Ehh, please post more ASAP!

Author's Response: When I was watching house of carters I got the feeling that they were quite close. She has every right to be pissed off at Shannon, I mean what she said is true to some extent. Shannon wasn't driving the car and she didn't force Nick to run out but overall she was the reason that they were there! rnrn

It's so sad, cause it's obvious that he's in critical condition, and now that he's unconsious barely holding on, that's when she tells him she loves him, I'm sooo mad with her. Author's Response: They say it takes a lot to make a person see. I mean it's like the Ben fiasco, it took him beating her daughter to a bloody pulp to make ker realise and she's done the same with Nick. Now fate just may be cruel enough to rip him from them both!
