“I hate you.” She joked, staring at him, waiting for him to make a move.
Nick only grinned. “I love you.”
“You’re horrible.” She laughed, the breeze causing her to shiver a little.
“You’re wonderful.” He replied, still staring at her.
Ashleigh didn’t say anything in response, she only watched him as he started into her eyes.
“Marry me.” He said softly.
OH GOD! LOOOOOVED THIS! You are amazing at this romance writing thing. Jesus, you put me to shame. This scene totally made my heart go a flutter. Fucking awesome chapter. I want Nick to propose to me dammit lol! This was such an incredibly sweet chapter, and I liked how you put in James to show that they haven't forgotten but yet they're trying to move forward with their lives. Very nice touch. Fantastic job Stephanie! I'm grinning like a fool thanks to you ;)
Author's Response: Hahaha I lovvvved writing that scene. I was grinning like a moron at school writing it and my friends (all guys) are like "what are you doing Steph?" and I'm like "errr... nothing! I'm just excited about the Rails exam!" Yes I very much want Nick to propose to me too haha. I don't know how you do it, but I end up grinning and feeling a mad desire to giggle like a maniac when I read scenes with Nick and Ashleigh. They're so perfect for one another and that's why I'm glad things are working out for them. Ashleigh finally wanting to marry Nick? Major bonus! Loved their whole bed scene. I'm wondering what Nick has in mind for a proposal? I already suspect me continuously going "Awwwww" throughout the entire thing! I love your writing Steph... seriously, I adore it and you! You always write the dialogue so flawlessly. Everything always flows beautifully and you make it seem so real, and that's hard to do. Something I've been definitely striving for. Wonderful job my love :)
Author's Response: Awww thanks! Yeah, things are finally starting to come together for the two of them. I think they deserve it, they've dealt with a lot of drama over the past year!! I'm so glad you like my writing, it makes me so giddy because I admire you so much as a writer :D I've had a lot of practice with dialogue, I used to draw comics a lot when I was in junior high, and comics are mostly people talking so yeah, lots and lots of practice. I'm glad you think it comes off well :) Something else I sometimes do is write out the scene as a script before i put any of the description in it. Yes.. anyway! Thanks for the review Dani! Steph, good lord! I've been missing in action for the past couple of days and I come back and look what I find... a million new chapters! I am giddy. I have not forgotten about you, so I'm sorry I've been gone! But here I am :)
I've said this so many times, but oh my God, Nick is so utterly sweet. The whole milkshake bit and his little rambling story about Brian and Leighanne... ugh, so cute. It's so obvious at how much he loves her. The whole bit with them talking about their past and Ashleigh saying she's still utterly and hopelessly in love with him.. *melts from cuteness*
I'm glad they decided to go to Atlanta! It should be good for them. I'm looking forward to seeing how things between them develop. So far there's no fighting, which is a good sign. Fabulous job my dear! Fabulous!
Author's Response: Aww yay you exist!! Not to worry, I figured you were probably busy, it's exam time so everyone's pretty tied up. Unfortunately, my laptop blew up and I couldn't study... and the only thing left to do was write BSB fan fic. lol. I love writing Nick in this story, he's so adorable, you just want to hug him. Yeah, I figured there was enough angst and it was time for some fluff. Lots and lots of fluff is to follow!! aaaw. planning a wedding sucks! I am in the middle of trying to get mine together (its in July) and I am so stressed out...it's not even funny! I totally blew up at him this weekend, it was crazy. lol. that, in itself, will probably add a few more dramatic moments to thier life! aaaaaaaaaaaaw...it was a good thing that she had caught on...I mean I knew when I was going to be asked a month or so before it happened and I turned out to be right...most of the time, I don't think it comes as much of a surprise to the woman...we are just good at pretending to be surprised.
so after that long drawn out ramble...good chapter. lol. I really do like your writting style.
