I liked this chapter. I know this trip is going to be everything they needed to reconect, I mean they're already doing it, they're getting stuff out in the open, clearing things between them , like that Lou stuff, at least now Kevin knows what really happened between Nick and Lou. It's not so much what Denise said, but just the fact that she brought Nick up at all. She kind of threw him under the bus on that whole issue, when she didn't have to say anything about him in the first place. I agree with your feelings about Denise; ever since I read her book, I just got kind of a not so warm fuzzy. Anyway, I'm glad you would want to read my story, but I don't know...we'll see. It's not even close to finished anyway. lol Thanks for the update Mare and I can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: Yup, she had no right bringing Nick up. That book left a bad taste in my mouth as well and I dind't even read it. You have to be suspicious of parents who write books about their kids. And then finding out she was kind of annoyed about the other guys showing up on oprah because they were stealing her spotlight kind of clinched my ill feelings towards her. I hope you get to finishing that story one day and when oyu do, I want to read it. :O)

When I started reading the second paragraph I knew exactly what this chapter was going to be about. I don't know if you ever read the VF article, but it was more than I ever needed to know. I felt for Nick because he was the only one that didn't talk to the mag, but they still used his name without his consent. I think AJ's mom was out of line too. Ugh. so many things I could say about this, but anyway I think you wrote it very well. I started writing a story just solely about this subject, but I don't know that I'd ever post it...it's such a sensitive thing, poor Nick. With all that he's been through it's a wonder he's turned out so well, but I credit the guys and himself for that. I would have loved to hear what Kevin had to say about all that...
Author's Response: I didn't read the entire article only bits and pieces that people posted. I do't recall what Aj's mom said but she annoys me almost as much as Nick's mom does. I would love to read that story you wrote but I understand what you mean. It's a very personal thing. I wasn't sure what the response to the isue would be like. I'm glad everyone seems to think i did it justice. I think if someone asked kevin about it, he would say something. I would also love to here what he had to say. Thanks Sam~!

Oops....in that long and rambling review I submitted, I neglected to mention that I'm not surprised that Kevin and Howie would look out for Nick. But I also wouldn't be surprised if AJ noticed the "looks" that Lou gave Nick. The question is: would this be a topic of conversation when AJ and Brian arrive?
Author's Response: Hrmm this is going to be the real challenge for me in this story because once AJ and Brian enter i'm not sure what's going to happen. I don't see this conversation coming up again though. Maybe, we'll see.

Mare, this was a great chapter and I'm glad you included this controversial subject in the story. Long before the abuse allegation came out, I've wondered about Lou Pearlman and his relationship with his "boys." Like my grammy use to say, "the man just looks wrong." And wasn't it strange that with the formation of groups after Backstreet, the youngest was always blond with blue eyes. Sounds like someone was obsessing about someone....mmmm. I hope that Nick was not sexually abused; but, I don't think we will ever know unless some other Boy will admit that he was. It's sad that I can see Nick telling Kevin before telling his parents. I find it ironic that Jane Carter said that she tried to "warn" other parents about Lou; yet, not only was Nick allowed to remain around him, but wasn't Aaron also signed with Lou Pearlman? Great job there, Mom! I really like the conversation in the story between Kevin and Nick, but I actually see it happening earlier in their relationship.
But, I've rambled long enough. Again, great job Mare. I'm loving this story.
Author's Response: Ugh I know what you mean about Jane which is why I never really bought the story about her being so concerned. I think she's only concerned when the cameras are rolling or money is being thrown her way. I don't think we'll ever really find out what if anything happened because I can't see any of the guys ever really spilling those kinds of beans, except maybe for AJ who seems to have a big mouth. lol Thanks Pammy!

Wow...what a powerful chapter. I love that you added this controversy in there. And I think you dealt with it very well...poor Nick. I bet Kevin felt guilty even though it wasn't his fault at all...just him being a big brother. Can't wait for another update.

Did the Lou groping Nick thing ever officially come out? I don't really pay attention to celebrity gossip anymore because Paris used to dominate it. lol
And lol at Nick threatening to tell Kevin who's younger than Lou. lol
I also found the whole nineteen/twenty minutes to live exchange entertaining. lol
Author's Response: The thing about Nick crying to go over Lou's was true. That's why people thought something was up. He never came out and said anything happened though. I made it be Kevin that Lou was afriad of because my thought was Kevin would be more likely to tell on him to his own parents than Jane, sadly who even though in real life she suspected something was happening, she still let Nick be in the group around Lou. *kicks her*
