It was the winter of 1998. The two youngest members of the backstreet boys sat in a break room of a dance studio. They were complaining about not having a date for valentines day. It was right around the corner and all seemed hopeless.

Suddenly Brian burst in the room with a huge smile on his face.

"Stop being so damn cheery." Alex complained as Brian sat between he and Nick.

"What's wrong with you two?" Brian asked them.

"No date." Nick grumbled depressed.

"Ditto." AJ said with a sigh.

Brian stood and laughed a bit. AJ shot him a warning glare.

"Chill, I can help you guys." He said then smiled.

"Really?" Nick perked up.

"Yep... well one of you."

"One of us?" AJ asked.

"Yeah well, I know someone in need of a valentine date but you'll have to compete for it." Brian then grinned.

"Your on!" AJ instantly said. He was very competitive.

"You can't beat this!" Nick boasted as he hit his chest.

Once again Brian laughed a bit. "Alright you two. Question number one, Based on a poll in some magazine I was reading what is the most romantic gift a guy can give on valentines day?" Brian asked.

"Easy, a dozen roses." AJ huffed.

"I'm gonna go with something cuddly, like a teddy bear." Nick nodded.

"A teddy bear?" AJ laughed.

"What? They last longer then roses." Nick butted back.

"He's right AJ. In fact that's what the magazine said the reason was." Brian nodded.

AJ folded his arms over his chest a bit huffy.

"Next question!" Nick smiled.

"What color rose do you give someone who is a friend?" Brian asked the next question.

"Pink." Nick said.

"Are they fucking friends or just friends?" AJ asked.

"Uh... I dunno." Brian was taken off guard.

"Hmm... Yellow."

"That's right." Brian nodded.

Nick looked disappointed as AJ stuck out his tongue at him.

"So, we have a tie breaker. Let's see..." Brian tried to think of a good question.

"You're going down Carter." AJ cheered.

"No way." Nick replied. "Last question Bri."

"Ok, I got it. What should you make your date for dinner?"

"That's too easy! You make spaghetti so you can redo that scene from lady and the tramp." AJ gave a giant grin.

Brian shook his head a laughed a bit.

"I dunno AJ. I'd say you should find out what their favorite is and make that. Followed by something chocolate."

"How lame." AJ rolled his eyes.

"It's not lame! Brian tell him I got it right!" Nick complained.

"Oh please. Brian can't lie." AJ teased.

"Actually AJ, I don't have to. Nick did get it right." Brian broke the news.

"What?" AJ complained.

"Yes! Bring on the date!" Nick cheered jumping up and down.

"Stupid game." AJ hissed and left the room.

"So, Brian, where's my date?" Nick asked with a smile.

"You're looking at him."

Nick's eyes widened and his mouth went dry.

"What? Who want's to be alone on valentines day?" Brian asked.

"Uh... at this moment? Me!"
