Orbiting earth a large space station the Inspectrum 2 once the largest moving battle station in its time, but now used to refuel deep space transport

Terren Corporation have not engaged in any galactic war for the past fifty years, only the occasional space pirates and python smugglers

Max could see an unusually military build up orbiting the earth. he brushed the idea assuming maybe a member of the Tyrell family is going some where.

From a small window on the side of a very old deep space transport, Max could see all the military movements on the other side of the Inspectum 2

The Eagle Wing, Max could make out the name on its side, a military super space carrier surrounded by its destroyers and fighters, and just exiting earths atmosphere Max noticed the Red Sun the royal transport of the eldest son of the current Terren ruler Lucian Tyrell

" Perhaps he is taking his vacation, some people always travel in style "

He said that as his transport starts to undock and move away, it’s the last time he would see this beautiful blue planet, carrying with him painful memories

He remembers how hard his life was on earth, living in the 67th sector of the industrial city Sand Ocean, it was really tough, a place ravaged by gang wars battling against each other to control the sector.

Max puts his head down to sleep for the long flight through deep space, to the edge of the Terren border, his new home

After a few days the transport reaches its destination, Max looks out the window of the deep space transport at his new work place and home for the next few years

Opus Beta Medical & Research facility orbiting the Hashimi planet, A floating rock. As the transport prepares to dock at the very old station, Max gets up and picks his duffle bag from the over head compartment

Opus Beta was the front line in battling the plague 50 years ago, now and after newer and more advance Medical stations built and in operation around the galaxy, its only a matter of time tell Opus Beta is put of for retirement

cheep contractors like Princo Co. electrical maintains now run the station and operated by Terren military personnel for low level research purposes, which is basically nothing.

After Max finished processing his entry paper work he is assigned to his room on level 2, he has a meeting with the Opus commander after he settles in. He walks out of the small crowded office towards the elevator, level 2 housing unit for troops, guards and low level management employees, such as Max an electronic tech supervisor for Princo Co. ,

he walks through a very quite hall way towards his room No. 2307, he uses his ID card. He quickly drops his bag on the bed and throws a very large bag on the sofa next to the bed, his room consists of a small bed, toilet, and a small like kitchen for light snacks,

he lies on the bed exhausted from the long journey, he wasn't happy for where he is now, but it’s a start, to get away from it all, to get away from his past, maybe love

He figures, maybe because of love he did what he did, but was it worth it ???, it's a question that he couldn't answer right now,

the COM unit in his room beeps, he gets up and sees a little screen flashing on the wall next to the door, he gets up and goes to answer.

Hey boss, how was your trip???

Max answers back " Hey Kelso buddy wassaup when did you arrive??"

Kelso answers " a few cycles ago, why don't you come down for a drink and meet the rest of the crew, and I have to give you your mini COM unit, or PDA what ever you call it, the bar is in level 1 "

Max says " OK, be right down "

Max picks up his ID pass and rushes off, Max met Kelso, he remembers the first time he met Kelso he was a space craft technician, he left the military and met Max when he applied for Princo Company, they where assigned to the same projects, but Max was lucky to get promoted faster and he is very talented in just fixing things, and his first job as a supervisor was to maintain electrical works at Opus Beta.

He arrives at Joe’s the very cramped, crowded, damped and cold bar by night and dinner by morning Opus time, he looks around and sees Kelso waving both hands, Max walks towards the table and finds Kelso sitting with other new employees assigned to the project, Kelso introduces Max to the other members.

Kelso "Hey guys meet the boss, Max Zander, Boss meet the guys, this lovely lady is Pamela "

Pamela a retired fighter pilot, she was shot down battling against the RFQs, a group fighting for sovereignty over Mars, the result an injury in her left eye, she had to leave or assigning for a desk job

Kelso continues “ this guy has a heart bigger then the Red Sun it self, I introduce Bora “

Bora is very kind person, the eldest of four the only male, unsuccessful in continuing his education he started working in an early age

Max greats both of them with a firm hand shake before he sits down at the table, Max takes his PDA unit from Kelso.

" guys, we got a lot of work cut out for us here so lets leave it to tomorrow, now lets drink"

“ All right boss, next round is on me “ Kelso shouts

Next day, early morning Opus time Max was in the elevator going up to the bridge, to meet up with Colonel Janet Demarco the administrator of the facility

Occupying the top floor of the cylinder shaped facility, and the only zero gravity room in the station, the Opus Beta command deck has a 360 degree window with reinforced shields powerful enough to repel almost any space debris, computer terminals each with different functions all over the place, civilians contractors and military personnel hard, in the only zero gravity area on the station

With a quick look around he spotted the administrator hovering above a small platform in the center of the giant room with her assistant next to her probably discussing the approaching transport around the day, he quickly approaches her

That very moment at the station docking station, one of the transports has just docked

packed with along awaited supplies and workers, leaving off the old transport along with others looking for work is Dona

a young single mother tightly holding her nine year old son Billy by his hand, afraid he might wonder off like he always do, she tights her grip on his hand and take a quick look at him with a stressed smile just to make sure he is still there

“ don’t worry Billy, every thing will be ok “

“ I’m not worried mama “ assuring her with a smile

After finishing long paper work process they ask for directions to the diner, usually the diner or bar in the lower part of the station is where any one with no permits would look for work

Dona is here for medical reasons but she needs to raise a few hundred credits before she starts the treatment she seeks, and its only performed on the Beta.

Still dragging a large bag with wheels in one hand, holding her son with the other and a heavy back pack, she gets in an elevator which goes down to the lower part of the station

“ stay close to me in the diner, we are not supposed to be here “

“ Yes Mama “ the little boy replied while tightening his grip around her leg in the crowded service elevator taking them down to the lower part of the station

A while later, the crew of Princo company where hanging out at the diner waiting for Max to come from the command deck with there assignments for the day

" ohhh my god, coffee, where did you get it from Mobar " Kelso shouts as the waitress puts three cups on the table, she gives Kelso the dirty look and leaves

Bora not happy with Kelso's behavior " be nice to the lady "

Kelso shouts back to get her attention " she digs me, she just gave me the I love you look "

Pamela laughed " its more like the piss off look, or run over by a destroyer "

Kelso pulls his cup closer to him " your right, that is defiantly the piss off look "

" and she would piss on you " Bora laughs out pulling his cup

Pamela notices a little boy suddenly appeared at the edge of there table looking straight at her

" hey little boy, is your mommy here " she asks with a smile

Billy smiles and does not say any thing

Kelso shouts " sho, go away little brat cant you see I hate children "

Dona quickly comes to her sons aid

" Billy I said don’t wonder off like that !"

Dona gently disciplines the little boy

" Billy please don’t ever do that, you scare me when you wonder of like that "

Billy answers " I don’t want to scare you mama, I'm sorry "

" good boy, now apologize to the nice man "

Kelso grunted " yeah apologize to me, kid "

Max interfered quickly " hey man be nice to the kid " and turned to the little boy and his tired mother " why don’t you sit with us you look very exhausted"

Dona answered " yes, we have been traveling for long time, I'm looking for work and I couldn’t find any " she said as she was sitting down and sits Billy on her lap

" will what experience you have ? " Pamela asked

Dona looked at the table and answered " will, nothing "

In the other side of the galaxy coming out of hyper space, The Royal Start Ship the Red Sun and escorting her the Wolf Fang battle group

In the throne room Prince Lucian Tyrell, next in line to the throne in an urgent meeting with his admirals

Lucian walking around worried if the recent developments

" why would the Kayteens attack an unarmed colony, we had peace for the last fifty years why now "

Admiral Tailwind of the Tigers Claw battle group replies " sir, early reports are still unclear, we are not sure but we must fight back "

" I don’t want to get in too war, especially with the Kayteens, we must find another way "

" sir, in this room are the finest and the most experiences people in the corporation, the more we delay the more things would ….." Lucian singled with his hand for the admiral to shut up and slowly exits the throne room

Tailwind hits his fist on the conference table

" Why is the King letting us put up with this Kid "

He turns to a person staring thru a transparent window into deep space

Tailwind unable to control his temper " talk some since into him, he is your nephew prince Darien "

The old prince looks at the Admiral Tailwind " my brother the King believes in him, you should too " and winks at the Admiral and walks out another with a few body guards following him

The young prince heading to his room, the young prince worried but as soon as he sow his girlfriend Sam waiting for him in the hall way with a big smile and greats him with a hug he quickly forgets his universal problems and smiles back to Sam

" how was your day.. my lord " Sam whispers in his ear

" how was your day.. my love " he whispers back as they walk slowly holding each other heading to his room

" your highness have promised to show me the beautiful sun rise on Tidos desert, when are we going? "

Lucian gently pushes Sam away and his smile just turned up side down

" Lucian, what's wrong "

Lucian looks deep into Sam's eyes

" Sam lets just run away, let's go some place far and live together a happy ending "

Sam gently kisses Lucian " I love you Lucian, I love you to much to take you away from all this "

" all this ??!! if I to be crowned king I will lose you "

" if we where to get married, you will lose every thing "

" If I lose you, then I have lost every thing "

Sam gently kisses Lucian, and holds his hand pulling him towards his room

In the other side of the galaxy on Kayteen prime the capital of the Kayteen race

In a dark room the very old tired Emperor discusses an important mission with two of his loyal subjects

" Prince Gorath, my grandson, the humans have declared war by destroying one of unarmed mining colony "

" I am aware of that my Emperor "

" destroy the humans "

" yes my lord " and quickly leaves the room

" do you think it’s a wise, sending Gorath instead of the mighty Thrakath grand father "

" my beautiful grand daughter " assuring her as he slowly makes his way to his throne

" I'm away your brother plots kill me, but with Goraths victory, over the humans, all we kneel to him "

The young princess smiles and bows with respect to the Emperor and walks out the Throne room

" if he fails " the emperor reminded him self of the consequences

A few days later

Max was working with Kelso on the large doors for the storage area, both of them where passing jokes about the administrator

The rumbles of what seamed to be the result of an explosion was felt station strongly shakes, drooping stored supplies and equipment off there shelves

“ EARTH QUAKE “ Kelso shouts while grabbing to a large pole next to him

“ calm down idiot, we are in space, follow me to the command deck quick “

as they where running to the command deck, panic spreads through out station, lights flickering on and off with each explosion, alerts for failing support systems where on.

Max’s dash into the command deck and sees a big mess, a few computers not functioning, communication officers trying to send out distress signals, and colonel Janet the administrator trying to regain control of the situation

Max goes directly for an empty terminal and sends out a message to his staff to report back damage status in their area

“ Administrator Janet, what is going on “

“ we are, we are under attack from a Kayteen cruiser “

Janet receives a few damage reports

“ we just lost our shields, how soon can you get it back online “ she shouts to an officer

“ not possible at this time, we are trying to get the life support system under control “

Kelso shouts “ I will try to get the shields back online, Ill be in touch via PDA “ and runs off

“BE CARFULE” Max shouts as he left the command deck

And then Max turns to Janet “Cant we lunch any fighters”

“We have a wing but no pilots, the pilots where pulled out if here a few days ago”

“ aren’t any star destroyers close by ??”

“We have been sending distress signals since we detected the enemy 30 minutes ago but no response”

Max shocked by her statement " 30 minutes, why didn’t you sound the freakin alarm, or send a freakin distress single or some thing "

" the alarm malfunctioned and some one tampered with our long range radio "

Max got worried, he is the one who fixed the long range radio, then the Kayteen fighters pulled out

Colonel Janet screamed “Whats going on why are they pulling out "

Max didn’t like what he just sow, it’s an old Kayteen fighting tactic, Max replays “No, there just getting ready to send out a general to claim the kill, namely us "

“Give me clearance to fly, let me deal with them ” Janet surprised “Do you know how to pilot a light weight fighter??”

" there is no better time to learn then now " and turns around and dashes off to the hanger

On his way Max calls on his COM Device his two of his crew members, Kelso and Spirit Max reaches the hanger floor and sees spirit all ready in one of the small fighters and lunching, as Max was jumping in the light weight fighter that’s equipped with only two missile and very light laser blaster he sees Kelso running to his fighter

“ we just got contact from the Tigers Claw battle group, there in the vasinity and will be here shortly, you gotta buy us some serious time guys, good luck” Colonel Janet informed

Spirit quickly gets Max on her VDO" boss, it’s a lose situation here, all we have advantage is speed”

" I know but we have no choice or innocent people will die "

Kelso joins in the VDO conference " so whats the plan boss, Im getting a power surge from the curser, there gonna attack any second now "

Max arms his weapons and increases his speed “Ok people, here is the plan, stay a mile and a half behind me at full speed ”

Spirit arming her weapons and slowly accelerate behind Max “your gonna be an easy target for the guns not to mention the fighters” Max says “You worry about the fighters and ill worry about the guns"

Kelso his hands tremble pulling the acceleration lever “This better work boss, I got kids, to think about ”

" your not even married!! "

the three light fighters start to get closer to moving curser that is ready to engage, the Kayteen Heavy equipped fighters start to attack to give time for the cruiser to get in range and fire its main weapons at the Opus Beta

Max taking advantage of the speed in his light fighter, he manages to pass the enemy and attacks directly the cruiser and starts firing his laser on it

as spirit anticipated the heavy fighters quick response, two of them break formation and attack Max to brush him of the cruiser and at the same time, the cruisers guns starts firing at Max and Opus Beta, Max was maneuvering very will around the guns that where unable to target him and at the same time Max was firing his lasers on the cruisers guns which had a very strong laser shield, he was waiting for the right second, the second when the guns fire its shield weakens on that area

Max successfully destroys the first laser gun, explosion and debris started flying of the cruiser, Max threat to the cruiser increased, the rest of the laser guns began to target Max and two more Kayteen fighters joined the others to kill Max

Anticipated this will happen, Spirit quickly informs Max on the VDO screen “Max we cant cover you much longer four fighters are after you and one is now following Kelso and I..”

Max interrupts “go help Kelso, I will keep them company till the Tigers Claw arrive” Kelso wasn’t doing very will against the heavy fighter " I hope they get here, any time NOW will be nice " Max quickly contacts

then Max hears spirit shouting “ Kelso enemy on your tail, brake left ill take care of him ” Kelso cant see the Kayteen pilot behind him “ I CANT SHAKE HIM OFF MY ASS”

" Kelso hold on he is almost in my missile sight "

" I cant see him, I just lost my shields, the fighter can handle it "

" Kelso hold on, I got a lock and firing "

The Kayteen pilot fires his missile at Kelso right before Spirits missile destroys him, Kelso loses control of his fighter but ejects at the last minute before his fighter exploded

Spirit says “Max its just the two of us, I’m giving you cover now” successfully spirit manages to destroy one of the fighters following Max, giving him more room to destroy a few more laser gun, the cruiser ignores the attack and starts charging its main weapon to fire to destroy Opus Beta.

Spirit “Max, I’m coming closer, I will try to take the one on your tail out”

Max barely can speaks with her “spirit I have every thing under control stay away ”

Spirits disregards Max orders and goes closer to the fighter drawing the fire of the cruiser with it.

A big flashing light appears, the Tigers Claw and whats left of its battle group jumps out of hyperspace, but it didn’t launch fighters

" this is thunderhead mission control of the Tigers Claw, our launch bay malfunctioned, we need a few minutes to fire our main weapon, the target is still out of our guns reach "

" will hurry up before they do " Max shouts back as he takes another gun, and his radar picks a large energy charge " Thunderhead, the cruiser is in firing position do some thing " the only cruiser next to the tigers claw started to move in an attempt to catch up with the Kayteen cruiser
