Simple Meaning

As night falls upon my eyes
I am plagued by fears of the unknown.
I am left standing in a dark abyss
Where no one knows the answers
To life's questions.

So here we sit idly waiting and watching.
We sit and watch
While our lives pass slowly by us
Waiting for someone to care
We wait for one moment
that will define our entire meaning.

Our cries of helplessness and our prayers for peace
Were left unanswered by a god
that we thought had existed
but yet here we stand waiting for something to come.
We wait for a sign of hope,
Or of a sign of beauty.

We sit and watch
While our lives pass slowly by us
Waiting for someone to care
We wait for one moment
that will define our entire meaning.

But we fail to see
What really means the most.
The meaning of friendship.
Perhaps the meaning of love.
We fail to see what keeps up going
Even through the times of darkness.

So here we sit idly waiting and watching.
We sit and watch

And then suddenly,
Like a flash of lighting,
The meanings and answers
We have been searching for
Have finally come to light.

So, there's no more waiting and watching.
No more tears of pain,
And no more painful goodbyes.
The meaning was simple.
