Chapter 13

Brian felt Sara drop from his arms but he couldn't get enough blood in his brain to gather her
up again and run for help. In fact, he couldn't do anything but stare. And staring, was exactly
what he didn't need to do right now.

"Shit.." He heard AJ gasp from behind him.

“Aww, are you not glad to see me? I sure am glad to see you...pretty boy!” Rick snarled at
them. The odd thing was that he was just standing there, just staring at them.

"I think you dropped something, lover." He continued, watching Brian's eyes become colder.
Rick stepped forward to the woman lying on the ground, gagging on God knows what.

"Don't touch her." AJ stepped forward, finding his voice just long enough to defend his
friend, but not gaining enough strength to move.

“And what do you think you can do about it, Freak!” Rick said loudly. AJ couldn’t believe that
all the people passing by hadn’t heard any of this. AJ went to answer but stopped when he
heard a heart wrenching cry come from inside.

“Oh God, Nick...” Brian said in a mere whisper, unable to bring his voice any louder. Sara had
been able to stop her heaving, and stood back up beside Brian. She was swaying a bit, but as
the sound of Nick’s cries grew more frequent she couldn’t think of anything else she wanted
to do then get on that bus.

However, AJ was the first one to make his move onto the bus. Pushing past Brian, Sara, and
then Rick he made his way into the bus.

"AJ.." The words slid off of Brian's pale lips and into the warm night air. The fireworks that
popped into the sky shed light of his snowy white face. For a moment, everything around him
was a blur and it would be the sound of his wife puking that shook him again. Slowly, he
turned his head to look at her and then he looked back at Rick.

'Why was he just god damn staring?' Brian swallowed as the thought entered his mind. What
to do now was the question at stake. Inside, were two of his brothers and one of his best
friends. Outside were two of his other brothers and his other best friend, his wife. And his
daughter.

A picture of Emily pushed it's way through to his brain, just long enough for tears to well up in
his eyes. Nick and Jenn's children were out there too. The outside of this was so much better
than the inside. But Brian Littrell knew, that either way, he wouldn't make it out of this alive.
And neither would anyone else.

"What's it gonna be Littrell? Hmm, who do you love more?" Rick's voice taunted him.

Brian squeezed his eyes shut for a quick prayer, and then looked into Sara’s eyes. Her eyes
always told him everything, and this time they told him to go inside the bus. Grabbing her
hand he made his way passed the man that had plagued his dreams for so long.

Nothing could’ve prepared the two for the sight that greeted them. Nick and Jenn were both
hap-hazardly placed on the floor of the bus, cuts adorning various places of their bodies. AJ
was also laid out along side of Jenn and Nick, Kara was standing over his prone form.

When Kara turned to the couple standing in the doorway she had an evil smirk on her face.
“He wasn’t invited to this little party.” She was directing her words to Rick.

As Rick and Kara had an argument over this situation, Brian and Sara made their way to their
friends. They were both so focused on their friends, that they didn’t even notice that the bus
was in motion.

"Can't...breathe..." Nick's grey eyes found Sara's and hoped that she would understand.

The brunette turned her head to find that AJ had fallen across Nick's torso, dead weight
causing the blonde to have even more trouble pumping air into his deflating lungs.

Carefully, she rolled AJ off of Nick and onto his side, in the recovery position, hoping he
would awake soon. Her attention then focused back on Nick now. His breathing was growing
stronger but his eyes were drooping and there was a glazed look about them.

"Stay with me, Nick." She pleaded, pushing his sweaty hair back only to find that blood washed
her hand. Her body became lighter and lighter until she couldn't hold herself up anymore.
Sara crawled over to the nearest trashcan and made it in just enough time to empty herself
again

Brian's hands became clammy as he became uncomfortable with the shade of pale that Jenn
had taken on. 'Not again, please God, not again.' He thought, closing his eyes to block out
reality. He quickly opened them back up when he heard Rick’s sinister laugh.

“Doesn’t this look familar, well, almost. Last time I think it was her taking care of you.” Rick
said as he approached them.

Brian suddenly faced the offending man, “What in the fuck did you do to them??!!” Brian
almost backed away after being so forceful. He almost didn’t believe that he had said that.

“My, my, aren’t you forceful tonight.” Rick said as he grabbed Brian by the front of his shirt,
and jerked him up. “I have a feeling you won’t be like that for long.”

Sara gasped at the sight before her, not wanting to believe that this was all happening. She
began wondering if it was because of them that she was throwing up, but she didn’t think
about it for long before she was heaving into the trash can again.

Nick was still sobbing as he tried to get a look around the room. Everything was so blurry, but
he could hear the voices of Brian and Rick. All that was on his mind was locating his wife.
“Jenn...” He tried to yell out, but it only came out as a harsh whisper.

Rick turned his attention to Nick, still holding onto the smaller blonde. “Isn’t that pathetic,
your friend over there. Not even able to do anything for himself, or his wife. You know, he
didn’t even put up a fight.”

Brian was trying to pull out of the mans grip, but it was useless. “What did you do to them?!”
Brian asked again.

Rick looked to Brian once again, “I guess they just can’t hold their liquor.” Rick laughed loudly
after saying this.

Kara came over to Sara and grabbed the weak woman. Sara couldn’t even put up a fight, he
body was totally drained. “You’re coming with me honey.” Kara said as she began to drag her
off to another room.

At seeing this, visions of what happened to Sara the last time she was dragged off to another
room filled his mind. When those men took her into that room, and then he...he...

The thought was too much for him to remember, and he let out a loud sob. “NO! You can’t do
this!”

"Oh, but why can't I, cowboy?" Rick gave a toothy grin, that familiar stench on his breath made
Brian want to hurl.

"Don't call me that you fucker!" Brian winced as the man growled the pet name that Sara had
given him when they first started dating.

However, before Rick was able to retaliate over Brian’s outburst to him, Kara interrupted
them. “Holy Shit Rick! How much of that stuff did you give her??!” She was staring at Jenn.

Brian turned his attention to Jenn, and he felt his heart stop at the sight that greeted him.
Jenn was having a full blown seizure.
