Touched So Beautifully Incomplete

It's as though your impossible to see
So close to me yet even farther out of reach
Don't you know I'd have givin'
My very last breath for you?
So few shallow tears
For this latest mistake
Harbored fears left
Tangled in lies half awake
Lost faith for mild words
That no longer mean a thing

I was touched...
Touched so beautifully incomplete
By the hollow of a man inside you
Bathed in his own defeat
Each day to wake up is to die a little

Bound and naked in thoughts
Suddenly to aware
You loved me dry for awhile
As if you didn't care
Of the feelings you took
Whenever it pleased you

A haze of memories
Flood over my accusing eyes
Tempting me with forgiveness for you
but you'll reap what you sow
And this old love for you will go denied

I was touched...

"Sleep to dream," you'd whisper
Not to give yourself away
You don't have anything meaningful
At all left to say
Just take my words
Use them however you want to

When you step back and look at her
I hope you see me
All the things you love in her that I'll never be
And I don't want to
Sell myself out like you did

I was touched...
By the man that's a boy in so many ways
Hard to imagine that you where once my saving grace
But I don't need you
I'm fooling
I'd die for the chance to live for you

So leave me touched...
Touched so beautifully incomplete
