WIMP WIMP WIMP...he should have just spilled the beans.  And what the hell was he thinking walking out with her when the paps had been there just a couple of hours before and knew he was inside...stupid, stupid boy...

...and her reaction in the beginning, what did she expect?  I figured after she calmed down and they had a nice date that she may be a little less freaked when the paps did show up after the date...

And yeah she freaked because she's not used to it. she's never had that happen on either account...and yeah he let his guard down for one second and bam...thanks so much hon! I think the first time when she was upset it was more that she had to walk alone and felt stupid about it. She understood it but still she had that little voice saying "what if he doesn't want to be seen with me?" type of insecurity. Then the after part was really Nick's fault he let his guard down and he knew he shouldn't have but he did anyways, she clouds his judgement big time. Thanks so much hon!

What a difficult position for Marie to be in...the step-mom position is a big one, and it definitely takes a special person to be on board for that.  All of her concerns are valid.

As you well know, I love the sexin' at the end...hot stuff, miss!  As I was reading it, a thought popped into my head...they have been contaminating his sister's home...lol...

You go girl...I envision you with your little feather quill, writing by oil lamp with your nightcap on...ha!  It did come out slightly differently than planned, but I love it...it is perfect...her little rant was great, Nick was so gentle in his response, which was perfect.  He is so soft and gentle in this story, not all angsty and goofy, which I love.  It is a new FF incarnation of him and I dig it!

I love well written first person! Not everyone can do it and yours is fantastic! I am learning a lot about Jack and how he works, which I didn't expect to do so early in the story.

Only suggestion I have at this point is regarding comma use. I have noticed lots of unnecessary commas and as a reader, it has a negative impact in your flow and general readability.

Yay, thanks so much that means a lot of coming from you, Darby. Yeah, I wasn't sure how to work out his career path when I started and to tell you the truth this story just hit me and I went with the flow. lol.

I like that although he is supposed to be emotionally unattached to anything, you hint at what lies beneath with his emotional reaction to his baby of a car being gone. Although it's a physical reaction, I see hints of the potential emotional attachment to Crystal here.
