While Nick struggles to deal with what happened on the cruise, Howie’s indiscretions lead to dire consequences.I keep saying poor Howie, and right now, I'm sat here thinking poor Howie once again.
I can sort of understand the way he feels, his wife doesn't want him, he's got HIV and given it to others, and feels like there's nothing to live for. But I hope something or someone can change his mind before it's too late. He's still got so much to do in life, he can't give up!
I'm glad the nurse jabbed him with the syringe before he had a chance to escape. Maybe Nick will be the one he listens to? If Nick ever plucks up the courage to visit him.
Author's Response: Sorry I'm late with this reply, but thanks for the review, Steph! Howie is definitely in a bad place, both physically and emotionally. Hopefully Nick can help change his mind.
Oh my god! After all that persuasion this happens! I do hope the doctors get to him in time and that he has the transplant. I really think Nick and Howie can get through this and be friends again. Nick wasn't just saying it to get him to have the operation.

I can understand Leigh not wanting the kids to see him like that, but surely she'd soften a bit and go and see him. Poor Howie, he's in a right mess :(
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I don't know what I'd do in Leigh's position. I don't think you can just stop loving someone like that, but I can also understand her not wanting to leave her kids and also not wanting to bring them along. It's definitely a complicated situation they're in.

Oh god, I really don't see a way back for Howie now that all his organs are failing, but I hope this is the worst of it and he starts to improve.
I think Nick is realising now how Howie was feeling about it all. I hope he doesn't do anything silly either.

Sorry I've not been keeping up, but I am still reading and absolutely loving this story.
What a chapter, I can understand the way Nick freaked out on Lauren, but she is right, they need to put it all behind them and move on.
Glad the surgery went well for Howie and hope there are no more setbacks :)

Just spent the last couple of hours catching up and loved having loads to read.
I knew someone would spot them someday, and word would get out, but what a shame it had to happen when he's still recovering and Leigh is in the process of divorcing him. Poor Howie, nothing seems to go his way :(
And for Nick and Lauren too. I know he's trying to protect her, but I hope they sort themselves out.

OMG I thought it was awkward enough being caught by James (well almost caught), but this just got a whole lot more awkward now that he's finally realised it wasn't all down to Howie and that he has got feelings for him.

Great chapter, I had a feeling Nick and Howie would end up kissing or something when they went to the rocket launch.
I loved that they were singing Oasis together and then watched that rocket launch, sounds like such a great thing to watch.
And even though I'm not into slash, I'm definitely into this story. I think if it's a great story, then I don't mind going out of my comfort zone as a reader.
Can't wait for more :)

I had to throw Wonderwall in there after seeing Nick sing it on his tour last year. Thanks so much for venturing out of your comfort zone with me; I really appreciate it!
OMG for a moment I thought he had AIDS and that was going to be it for Nick! I'm glad he's finally going to listen and do as he's told. Poor Howie though, having to go public with his diagnosis. At least Nick isn't having to deal with that as well...yet.

I agree with Howie, no one likes a needy person clinging to them lol. I do think the time apart with make Nick come to his senses though. We'll see though.

OMG poor Howie (I know I keep on saying that). Just when you think he can't have any more bad news he gets told he could have some new thing wrong with a high death rate percentage :(
But his love life is looking up at least. Maybe Nick is right too, he is immortal lol. He's certainly fought everything else he's been through.
