I ran across the story and I love it! I actually read the whole thing in one sitting only to notice when I got to the last chapter that it was unfinished (very observant I am, huh?). You have an amazing writing style and are very talented. I must ask, do you have plans to finish this one or will if remain "A Work (Still) in Progress"? Bad joke?

Well, since you acknowledged in your chapter end notes that the action didn't quite start yet in this chapter, I'll comment a little on the writing. Your writing is very good. You have a good balance between description and dialogue, and the guys are getting characterized well Nick the most, of course, since he's the narrator. The only concrit I have is that there are a lot of run-on sentences-- where commas are used where periods should be. I can definitely look past that, since the writing is otherwise so good.
Author's Response: Thanks for the concrit, yes I guess I could've used less commas, but hope the sentences aren't overly long. Glad you can look past that :)
I'm finally getting started! I have to say that I'm going to miss Kevin in this one. Otherwise, good setup. You give a lot of background in just one chapter, and I imagine you dive into the action pretty quickly. I guess i'll find out!

I like that the pilot stayed relatively calm. I think that's somewhat realistic. Just like AJ clinging to Nick and Brian getting sick seem pretty realistic given the situation.
Author's Response: Yes, I suppose the pilot would have to try and stay calm in order to control the plane, but I'd be a mess if it was me! Sorry I took so long to respond, I've had to wrestle my laptop away from the kids as they are off school for the summer holidays and have claimed it.
I like that Nick seems to be coming into a hero role. You don't see that all too often- usually he gets written as the one who needs saving.
Author's Response: Yes, that's why I decided to make him more heroic in this story, he's always the one in trouble and in need of rescuing so it made a nice change.
Nice descriptive scene as they're trying to help Howie here. Is it bad that I can't help laughing at poor Nick who keeps "shitting his pants"?

Impaled on tree branches with their insides hanging out and congealed blood pools-- gross. Awesome description, though. It's enough to give you the idea of the scene, but leaves a little to the imagination, too.

I like your descriptions of "machete-ing" (yep, made that word up) their way through the jungle and the magnified sounds of the jungle at night. I could totally picture that!
