Well, it turned out to be AJ who caught the wild boar. Go AJ! I totally can't see him doing that in real life- of course, they're starving in the jungle, so.... Out of all of them, I think Kevin's the one I can see going all "Man vs. Wild." Maybe I'm still a little sad that there's no Kevin. Lol. I hider stand why you left him out given the timeline, but still...
Author's Response: Yes I can totally see Kevin in the wild and I wish he'd been in the group when I wrote this story. I think I'd catch a wild pig if I was starving enough lol.
Oh I'm sure it can get worse! Something I think you do really well in this story is your description. You really set the atmosphere of the story without going too over the top. I feel like I'm reading a movie, if that makes sense. In other words, I can really see what's going on as I read. Great job with that!
Author's Response: Thanks! I imagined it to be like a movie as I was writing and wanted plenty of action, so I'm glad it comes across that way.

Well I'm glad you didn't kill him off, but I will play devil's advocate for a minute and say I was surprised to see him awake and talking after that! I loved Howie the hero here!

You know, it hadn't even occurred to me that Howie could get an infection, and based on my work background, I should have been thinking about it a long time ago. I'd be really surprised if you didn't let them all make it out alive, but Howie could go downhill real fast...

Eek! I'm glad they didn't just chop his leg off. There are some major arteries in there. He might bleed to death if they did. Can I admit that I found the image of Nick the surgeon just a wee bit comical? Nick wears many hats in this story.
Oh I was waiting for them to come upon some sort of carnivorous beast! I liked the change of pace here in that it didn't attack. Good job with the suspense here, though.
Yay! They still didn't chop off Howie's leg! And, of course, that they've been found. #TeamHowiesLeg
Maybe a little cheesy at the very ending, but honestly, up until he last few lines, it was a strong reminder of what they've been through. Nicks talking about his nightmares is so realistic. Good job with this one. This was definitely out of my comfort zone, but the writing was great and you kept me engaged (when I wasn't having a baby and all). I need to look into reading more of your stuff.
It's not always about knowing, planning or being prepared; it's about the little wonders, the twist and turns of fate and the small hours. And it's in those moments that you come to learn that no matter what life has in store for you, you always end up right where you need to be.
Oh, how I cried and cried during this chapter! I hadn't read this story yet, so decided to give it a try, and it's just to beautifully written. I do hope that you finish this one someday!
