I can totally see the fight over who has to share a room actually happening. I can only imagine how many of those fights the guys actually went through in the early years. Every time there's a Brian/Nick moment, it pulls at my heart strings. Love it! Also, to answer your question, I teach English. Figures eh? LOL

WTF?? Seriously, Nick's MOTHER broke into AJ's house and trashed the place?? What is going on?!?! The fact that I will need to wait another week to find out the answer makes me a little bit sad. Overall, I enjoyed all the different bits of this chapter. I found it particularly heart-wrenching that, in reality, Nick DOES end up breaking his promise to Howie about doing the same thing that AJ did (in terms of his addictions).

Wow - Jane is dumb. Really? She thought that she was in Nick's house?? I swear that woman needs her head examined. I liked how the interactions between the guys played out after that whole ordeal. Of course Howie and Brian knew the details and Kevin and AJ were in the dark. That's always the way that it seems to be. Well done! Also, the flashback with Nick and Kevin on the beach was quite heartwarming. I love me some "KICK". :)

The scene with Nick and Kevin on the beach was so incredibly sweet. Have I mentioned that I love their relationship?? :) I like that you have created so much uncertainty surrounding the possibility of them putting together another album. It feels quite realistic as I'm sure they were all a bit hesitant given their long hiatus between Black and Blue and Never Gone. Well done!

So, I somehow missed the last update! I have no idea how it managed to slip by me like that. Usually, I'm pretty good about scrolling through the most recent page. Anyways, I just wanted to say congratulations on pressing the finish button! You did an amazing job on this story. You captured the guys' relationships perfectly, and I thought that your ending was ideal. Way to go! I hope to see another story from you in the near future (once that pesky thesis is out of the way).

Katherine "Kat" Brady had been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since the day she heard their first song. She finally has a chance to meet them but it doesn't go as well as anyone had planned. Can two people recreate a first impression?
Okay! I'm starting the second half of the reading challenge. Right off the bat, I like the fact that Kat and Brenda are teachers. I can totally relate! LOL

They should actually have that contest! Although, if the guys were to show up at my work I would probably die from excitement and embarrassment all at the same time. :P
AJ is pretty "grump-tastic" at the moment. I have a feeling that will change once he meets Kat.
Author's Response: I really wish they would! I agree with you completely that if they showed up at my school, I might become a mute!
He is one grumpy guy and is taking it out on everyone around him. Maybe Kat can change his mood a little!
If those kids were in my class, they would have been out the door during any kind of break time. Those are the moments that I cherish everyday ... although I'm clearly not as dedicated as Kat is. :)
I love how her Principal was just like: "Yeah, sort yourself out and then come and find me" - LOL
Author's Response: Teachers need those breaks! I wrote the piece about her principal because I could see my associate principal doing that to me!
They're going to sit in on her class?? OMG that would be the worst teaching period of my life! In terms of the fact that I would be so distracted that the kids would learn nothing. Bahahaha
I enjoyed Nick's comment about being in the Principal's office and not being in trouble. I have a feeling that was probably pretty accurate for him growing up ... for the short time that he was in formal school anyways.
Author's Response: I'm not sure I could even manage to teach, I'd be too busy staring at them! LOL I could see Nick being kind of a class clown and winding up getting spoken to about it. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and that you picked it for the reading challenge!
AJ being a grump is starting to annoy me. He better snap out of this funk and fast. Although, I'm pretty sure that Kat will be able to help him with that. :P
Out of curiosity, what grade do you teach? Based on this story, I'm going to guess Middle School range? Perhaps 7 or 8?
Author's Response: He is getting rather obnoxious with the refusing to make the best out of a situation and Kat may need to force the issue with him!
Good guess! :-) I teach 8th grade math in an urban middle school but I used to teach 7th in the same school.
The huge family dinner totally reminds me of my family. I think there's usually upwards of 35 of us for Christmas dinner; including two sets of twins under the age of 5. It's insanity!
Loved that AJ ended up tackling Kat instead of Nick. Things are about to get interesting ....
Author's Response: My dad's family is huge and we always have big holiday functions. I had to add the part about the tackling because it is a real family tradition to play these games and for people to get hurt! LOL It was actually my cousin who almost tackled me through the fence during one such event!
Well, I'm glad that AJ finally manned-up and apologized. He needs to cut all of his ties with whatever his current girlfriend's name is and move on to Kat. *tee hee*
Author's Response: It seems like he's finally turned the corner and maybe with Kat's help, he can open up and move. I think Kat is a much better fit for him anyway!
These chapters are so short (not in a bad way) that I feel as though I'm just racing through this story. LOL - You're going to log on and be like: "why do I have so many reviews ... what is this girl doing?!? - HAHA
Anyways, I'm glad that it looks as though the Kat/AJ relationship is heating up. :)
Author's Response: I know, they're really short. It's actually something I'm trying to work on in future stories. I think I did a better job in the sequel as far as adding more detail. And keep the reviews coming, even if there's 15 in a day; I appreciate and can use all of the feedback!
Hopefully it will keep going in that direction!
She's a teacher right and makes a teacher's salary?? How can she afford such a lovely sounding house? LOL I'm not American, so sometimes I forget that housing prices in the states are often fairly cheap.
Of course Nick would have a laundry list of items for her to pick up. *rolls eyes*
Author's Response: She is a teacher and I took some literary license with the kind of house she has. I couldn't afford her house even working the extra jobs I had but I figured I could give her a bonus! LOL
Yes, Nick seems to have one thing on his mind and it's not helping AJ and Kat get any closer!
So, this chapter was a little bit longer. I appreciated some of the extra details that you added into this one (with the water fight and AJ's reactions to speaking with Michelle on the phone). I see in one of your replies that you acknowledged about the need to include a bit more detail and I'm glad that you've picked up on that.
Your dialogue is always nicely written and your style is easy to read. With the details that you included in this chapter, the whole scene flowed quite well. :)
Also, I'm glad that the AJ/Kat relationship appeared to be progressing in the right direction ... at least for now.
