Katherine "Kat" Brady had been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since the day she heard their first song. She finally has a chance to meet them but it doesn't go as well as anyone had planned. Can two people recreate a first impression?
She hates having the summers off?? Did I read that correctly?? LOL - That's the best part of being a teacher (at least when you're lucky enough to work in the public sector).
AJ is cute in this story. I like how you have him being kind of shy and playful. It's different from how he's usually portrayed.
In terms of your comment before, 8th grade math eh?? I don't know if I could teach math all day long without losing my mind.
Author's Response: It is a perk but I usually choose to teach over the summer. It helps pay the bills and keeps me on my toes! I do teach math, even during the summer, and I have to say I enjoy it. Although if you asked the teenage me, I would have laughed and said you were crazy! LOL
AJ gets too much negative attention for always being the bad boy. I don't know him but I'd like to think he has that side to him.
I also dislike surprises. Ugh!
This chapter was so quick that it could have probably been added to the end of the last one. However, I can see why you set it apart as you are creating interest with AJ's surprise. It also means that I have time to read one more chapter. :)
Author's Response: It depends on the surprise with me. I've met all the guys at a meet and greet and it was very overwhelming so I understand how she feels. Sometimes I have trouble with getting enough detail in and it makes it almost like a mini chapter.
The ending of this chapter was cute. I really liked the line: "He had to use every ounce of self-control in his body to not add “me” to the end of that statement."
Author's Response: He's starting to develop strong feelings for her but he's hesitant because he doesn't know how she feels.
AJ had some serious random acts of "jerkness" in this chapter. I'm not really sure where all of that came from ... is it because he doesn't know how to deal with the fact that Kat will be going back to Boston in like a week? He needs to calm himself!! LOL
Author's Response: I couldn't have him be terrific all the time! LOL He's lashing out because he's afraid and doesn't know a better way to show it.
That was the fastest acting drug I've ever heard of! - LOL
I'm liking the fact that you have turned Michelle into the villain. it will definitely introduce some intensity into the story.
This chapter could have been hyped up with a little more description. It would have been nice to know a little bit more about what was going on in AJ's mind as the drug started to take hold of his body.
Author's Response: It was a quick one! LOL Michelle is a prize and she wants to make AJ's life as miserable as possible.
I agree with you that it needed more detail and I should have done more research for it. My bad on that one!
Poor AJ. Things are going to get worse for him before they get better. I like how you've twisted things around with Michelle taking advantage of AJ. Sadly, it's usually the other way around; the guy takes advantage of the girl.
Author's Response: You're right about it usually being the other way around. It was important to show the vulnerable part of AJ and to have him question things.
Uh-oh AJ dropped the L-bomb a bit too quick! I wouldn't be surprised if Kat totally freaks out and takes off. She seems like the type of girl who's afraid to jump into things with both feet.
Author's Response: She's afraid to jump in and have things not work out. AJ has become important to her and she doesn't want to lose him.
I like how Brenda keeps being the voice of reason for Kat. Unfortunately, I don't think that Kat is going to listen to her.
Author's Response: Brenda insists on being that voice but she really has her best friend's interests at heart.
I've never actually seen that movie. Although, it seems like something that I should pick for movie night and force my husband to watch. LOL - He would HATE it probably even more than AJ did.
On a side note, if AJ wants to tell Kat how he feels then he should just hurry up and do it. Oi!
Author's Response: I tried to do that with my husband but he vetoed it after me making him watch The Notebook! LOL
He should stop wasting the time they have together and get down to business!
Crawling into bed with AJ and snuggling up with him would NOT put me to sleep! Just sayin .... LOL

I really do enjoy the "sweet and sensitive" AJ in this story. I think the way that you've changed up his character is the best part of the whole thing so far!
At least he's clarified his feelings this time - He's IN love with her. :D
In reference to one of your comments, my friend and I also met the guys once in a meet and greet. We had pretty much psyched ourselves out by the time our turn came, and it was actually AJ who unknowingly put me at ease by making a comment about my hair. Ever since then, I've thought that he was such a sweetie. LOL
Author's Response: Thank you KeepThisSecret, I really feel like he has that side to him that most people don't see because of the bad boy image. He did clarify it and now hopefully she admits it too!
He was very nice in our meet and greet too. I was so nervous that when Brian asked me how I was doing, I answered "Nice."! LOL
Kat has faults?? - LOL - I'm not really sure what they are at this point. Aside from the fact that she is a bit insecure about her weight, she doesn't seem to be overly "damaged". I suppose that we all see our faults as being more pronounced than they really are though.
While I'm immensely happy that the two of them are happy, I have a feeling that their happiness isn't going to last for very long. Maybe that's just me being pessimistic ...
Author's Response: She absolutely does! They may not all be on the surface and she may just have to face some of them. We definitely are more critical of ourselves then others are and that's a shame.
I think everyone is rooting for them but you know that there is no such thing as fairy tales!
I have to admit that I agree with Denise. They are moving SUPER fast. However, AJ does plead a good case, so I suppose that I will just have to wait along with Denise and see where this all goes. :)
Author's Response: Denise is concerned that her son is not looking at the bigger picture and might get hurt by not thinking everything through. He does plead a good case but we'll have to see if they can get through it after the rose colored glasses are off.
Brenda brings up a good point about the press and the photographers and the fans. With the insecurities that Kat has with her physical appearance, I'm not sure that she's going to be able to handle that part of their relationship. It may be the thing that pulls them apart in the end.
Author's Response: I can't even imagine how the guys and their families deal with someone always watching what they do. I would hate not being able to have a private life and having to worry that someone might say or do something that would create a mess for me. You are absolutely right that it might be the thing that pokes a hole in their balloon.
Awwww it's nice that all of the other guys are so happy for them. LOL at Nick always thinking about his stomach.
Author's Response: Somebody has to break up the mushy, sappy and lovey dovey times and Nick does it well!
