Sorry for being late to the party on this, but I had to say that this story is *awesome*
You've done an excellent job of creating a very suspenseful atmosphere that is disturbing enough, but it feels like we're walking a very tight rope and the situation could unravel at a moment's notice. Your writing is so smooth that I really get lost in it, and you have a real talent for weaving the story through character interaction and internal dialogue. There is a great internal momentum here, and depth, grounded in very dark realism. This was a great read.
When life gives you Lemon.... Everyone has a past and when Kevin's comes back to haunt him, he discovers a life he never knew he could've had. But will his fear keep him from making lemonade?

"Kevin, at some point in time, had banged his homecoming date and produced a Lemon."
This line is absolutely brilliant! And such a Nick thing to say. lol What an awesome set up, and I am so excited to see where this goes. I can't wait to see Kevin's reaction. Lemon is such an enigma, and her exposition to Nick was really heart-rending and unexpected and really grounded this story for me. I love all of the different angles and perspectives here, and you handle all of them so adeptly.
