Author's Response: LOL The last line actually came from a version of this chapter I wrote where Nick DID drop the turkey. When I rewrote the chapter with Nick NOT dropping the turkey, I just felt like his character was like oh thank God that part got rewritten! Haha... So I had to put him in there saying he was glad he didn't drop the turkey! Just a little glimpse behind the scenes so to speak. LOL
Thankfully Matthew didn't hear any of that! I'm so curious what will happen that will cause problems between Nick and Lauren

To answer your question; I wasn't rooting for the kiss, no. Simply because I want to believe Nick has changed and therefore is no longer that kinda guy. After reading this chapter I'm even more happy he didn't.
If and when Abbey and him get together, his conscience is clean. I'm not liking Lauren so much right now.

Author's Response: This was one of the first scenes I imagined when I started storyboarding this story... the one looking through the photo albums, especially Matty dressed up as Nick for Halloween. lol

Lauren sucks. I guess she watched that movie with Tom Cruise as a cop who gets arrested before committing a crime one too many times. "I cheated on you because you will cheat on me in the future."
And she isn't even a blonde.

Author's Response: lol Tom Cruise. Oh boy. I think Lauren's defensive mechanism is crap, but it's something people really do - trying to sabotage something they think it's falling apart so they can control it's demise... I hope Matty gets his 5-star wish, too.

How disrespectful of Lauren to bang that guy in Nick's house, knowing he might come by to grab some stuff (or in this case, his dog). Abbey has a big heart, offering him to stay at her place.
