Nice update! I like that you're now focusing more on the character's interactions, making the story appear more realistic and thus making the reader interested. Are you going to make the romance between Rach&Nick more developed?

Nice chapter. It was funny though at a few moments I felt like I'm reading a slapstick/sitcom. I see that it was an intention of you to make the situation more relaxed after the kidnapping revealing. Bear in mind your original ideas about the characters...and keep that pace. Allover you have good improvements in every new chapter.

First, it is not according to good manners to threaten people for leaving a review. I hope you were just joking. Your story has gone into an action/thriller motive since the last chapters. Gangsters, kidnapping....Looks like you're doing so to make the pace faster. It's ok, just beware of the danger of losing your main ideas. Try to make a concept of what you want to see in your story and follow it. This will prevent you from drifting into endless sub-plots. Though I see that you have all qualities of becoming a good fiction writer.

Now it looks like you know where you want to lead the plot. The action is really important now,but try to concentrate more on the characters too. Also, in this chapter, Howie was mentioned more times than Nick, but that's ok.

As for the suspense moment, I bet there's a bomb under the table.

This chapter was good, you finally made Lucky more emotional, showed her feelings. I also liked Nick's confusion about what he had done wrong.
The part where Aaron gave reasonable advice was nice(I bet Aaron fans would like it), it made the story flow on.

The flirt at the pool was fun and to me, it showed that Lucky is not really interested in the next best guy that comes across.

Jesse...I had suspected that she doesn't want him. She had always a warm spot for Nick.

For the beginning of your next chapter-be careful about which confession she's going to make-this could really impact the story. As far as the story had a lot of drama and unhappy moments, I'd rather suggest you to make them happy for a while, instead of pushing in some confession, which could ruin their relationship. IF her confession is regarding the mysterious work she does...well, be careful!

It's actually a really mice story...as I started to read it I first thought it is the other one with the same title. But after a few lines I found out this is different.
You really go deep into the issue of domestic violence and abusive relationships.

One thing I'd wish you'd do in future-shape more the character of Nick..he's kinda there, but not fully.
