Nick is such a bone head thinking if he stays into hiding everything will be A-OK.....we never write Nick having logical thinking in most of our stories, do we? Thats what makes his character so fun to write!!  I love the emotions you have captured in this story - especially with AJ in this chapter!  I can't wait to read more!!



Author's Response: LMAO You are so right on that! Nick is always the illogical one doing something dumb or hiding something from the guys. It's a challenge sometimes to write his flawed thinking convincingly, but it's a fun challenge for sure. Thanks for much for the review!! I love that you're back!!!

What a roller coaster of emotions in this chapter! I'm thankful that you didn't have Kevin miraculously start speaking (I know you wouldn't do that lol).

I can feel the grief in their hearts with how Kevin is doing and the anguish when Jane told the about the police diving for a body. I love how you write Jane in stories with her dramatic voice playing the ' victim' much to the chagrin of the guys lol.

This story has kept my interest (as all of your stories have). I can't wait to see what happens.....

Author's Response: Thanks so much, Carrie! I am trying to take my time with Kevin's condition and write it realistically. It's a challenge, but I've actually been inspired by various stories you have written that put the boys in similar situations, with some kind of brain damage. You usually had them recover in the end, but you always made it seem like a long, drawn out process, as it would be in real life. And of course, Jane is always fun to write in small doses. I'm glad you're enjoying this one - thanks again for the feedback!

Author's Response: Thanks! It's a fun change writing in Nick's POV... I don't think I've EVER done that before. I'm usually a third person girl, and when I have done 1st person, it hasn't been Nick. So this is new for me, but I'm liking it, and you're right, it does seem to make it flow easier. Thanks again! :)

Excellent chapter Julie! You're doing a great job with this story so far. Made me laugh at a few points when Nick was wondering if the doc would slip her finger intentionally into his ass crack, etc.

Spinal tap headaches!! You described that Nick would more than likely have right on the mark with having to lay flat on your back afterward.

I will admit, when I read Nick's diagnosis I immediately thought omg my Swollen Issues diagnosis!! It's been so long ago and the stuff you have with Nick now is different from Swollen Issues.

I didn't think of Swollen Issues when I was figuring out what kind to give him, but then I did later, and I remembered he'd had one of the lymphomas there; I had to go check which one LOL. I hope they won't be too similar, but Swollen is always good for some inspiration if I need something to go read. You know how much I love that series!

I loved Nick's sense of humor before the chemo started - "I'm a chemo virgin" and then the mood goes downhill from there. The reality of his situation is burning in the back of his mind and his selfishness in not telling his family and friends is slowly getting to him. Carrying a heavy burden should be getting to him eventually poor guy :(

Enjoyed the chapter thanks for making me a fan fic junkie again. To quote Edward in Twilight - "It's like you're my own personal brand of heroin...." lol ( I can't stop coming back here again)

Great chapter! Good idea about having her calling the oncologist. (I have a feeling she will be talking to her a lot). Nick is a dumbass doing this on tour! Its hard enough doing chemo in a hospital setting & dealing with side effects. Can`t wait to see how Carey handles her first round of chemo with Nick. He is going to be sicker than what he was the last time & neither one is going to be prepared for this!
