Yay!  I loved the beginning.  Took me right back to 2006!  It's fun when stories do that, even if that was not such a fun time in the fandom.  The fact that Kevin came back and everything turned out all right makes it easier to look back on that time when he was gone.

That is true; those years were when AC was at its peak!  I guess we found solace in fanfic.  I think fanfic is also what helped get through the hiatus between Black & Blue/Chapter 1 and Never Gone.  Other than Nick's solo album, there wasn't much BSB stuff happening, but there were a lot of great fanfics being written.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I remember when he left, it was okay for me at the time because he was my least favorite member of the group so it wasn't really a bad time for me. I think I took a break from the group during that time too. There was a bit where I still listened to their music, just didn't keep up with what any of them were doing. So I went through a punk rock and emo music phase. Then in 2009 I came back to the fandom and to writing, joined AC. So I think it all worked out.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, for sure!  Kevin was always in that 4th or 5th favorite spot for me too (sometimes he and Howie switched places).  But I was devastated when he left because I thought it was the beginning of the end for the whole group.  I was so glad they went on as a foursome, but it was never quite the same.  I appreciate Kevin so much more since he came, and I think he's more appreciative of the fans too.  The few times I've met him, he has always seemed so gracious and genuinely glad to meet fans.  I think everything happens for a reason, and it all worked out the way it was supposed to.

This story marks another first. Because I have never really written Kevin as a main character before outside of a one shot. So I hope he sounds like Kevin. This story is a bit outside of my comfort zone.
