This ending that I came up with actually does fit. I don't want to give much away for anyone reading, but the way it ends will make a lot of things in the story that happened make sense. It's a science fiction story. It started with Nick waking up from  a coma and he had lost his memories. Things are explained a bit as the story progresses. The ending I came up with is kind of a happy ending but also very mean at the same time.

I always like an ending that can be many things at once. :) Hopefully Nick's accepted his fate now, lol.
