I hadn't heard the verdict of who had custody of Bella. I knew Jane was taking BJ's friend (the friend had supposedly been watching over Bella before BJ's passing; according to the article I read) to court over the matter; but that's all that I had been able to find. If she does have custody then I'm praying for BJ's daughter for sure...

I'm glad that Angel and Nick are trying so hard to keep the next generation of kids in contact with each other when they can... all of the Easter posts last month really made me smile.

I also, really enjoyed the ACM's... though I wasn't expecting the guys' and rascal flatts to be the final act. Also I was surprised in particular at how tired all they all seemed to be; but then again they have been doing a ton of press and stuff for Vegas/2.0 and the awards show did go over the initial predicted time limit according to my prime stream. I really liked how instead of just singing the cover they turned the spot into a mashup that represented both groups, it made waiting for the performance worth it in my opinion.

I didn't realize that BJ had a daughter. Did Leslie have any kids? To think that Jane has custody of any of the kids make me anxious. Hopefully she's gotten better, but I have my doubts.

Yes, BJ had one daughter, and so did Leslie (Alyssa).  I think Alyssa is with her dad's side of the family.  I doubt Jane has gotten better, unless she went to rehab and is being treated for her mental illness.  Even if she did, history is not on her side.  Her lawyer probably made her delete her social media to look better for the judge, which was a smart move, considering her crazy was on a full display on Facebook.

Here is the Reddit thread I was referring to: https://www.reddit.com/r/NickCarter/comments/1k9cw31/bella_carter_bjs_daughter_is_with_jane/  It has a link to a GoFundMe that Bella's father's family started to raise money for their legal fight.  The last update from April tells the whole story. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mw8ve-help-us-bring-bella-back-home

LOL Of course they made us watch 3 hours of the ACMs and wait until the very end to see our Boys!  I'm sure they knew a lot of people who don't usually watch this stuff would tune in just for that and turn it off right after the performance. It was a great finale to the show though! I'm also glad they made it a whole medley. I'm not sure if they looked tired so much as old LOL. They all look great, don't get me wrong, but those age lines around their eyes are starting to show. I think they've started rehearsing for the Sphere shows, though, so between that and the flying back and forth some of them had to do, I'm sure they probably were tired too.

Ugh that Reddit thread. Of course, they are harping on the fact that Nick just didn't take her in like it's just that easy to do. And the whole financial issue. People are so dumb. lol

I swear the parallels between the Carters and the Culkins are crazy.

Right! As far as I know, Nick has never even met her. Sure, he could provide a more comfortable and stable life for her than Jane could, but Bella would be better off living with someone she at least knows and already has a relationship with. It's a sad situation all around.

Based on the little I know about the Culkin family, I can see those parallels. Money-hungry parents with too many kids, some of whom found too much fame too soon. Such is the case with the families of so many child stars.

All of the above and then that’s not even touching on the psychological side of things. I’m sure Nick wants to help but even if he had that as an option legally. People forget that the courts ultimately focus on choosing what the best interest of the child in question; ideally going off of extensive research even though things don’t always play out that way. In reality if he did anything it could end up doing a lot more damage than good. Putting Bella through more uncertainty and trauma isn’t good for her and vice versa for Nick’s own children as well.

People forget that real life doesn’t play out like a Disney movie…

Also, incredibly abusive dad and mom who ignored the behavior and throw in a stepsister who died of a drug overdose for fun while another got run over on her way to rehab. The main difference is that after dad left, mom tried to become better and managed to salvage her relationship with some of them. I don't know why anyone would let their kids in show business. I know they all use the same excuse, "well they said they wanted to do it." Sure, but some of them probably said they wanted to be astronauts and vets too... Especially those kids who grew up in the business and know how it works but STILL let their own kids do it.

I don't understand why parents would want their kids to be famous either, when you see how a lot of child stars turn out.  Especially if they have gone through it themselves, you would think they would want their child to have a normal childhood.  But some parents just want to live off their kids, like Nick's parents.

I only saw the BSB and Rascal Flats performance on You Tube and really enjoyed it.  I don't know about tired but they are aged between 45 and 54 so are bound to show some signs of aging now, would be a bit suspicious of them being vampires or something if they didn't age lol.

Right!  I'm glad 4 out of 5 of the boys have given their kids a normal childhood.

Howie may actually be a vampire.  He and Paul Rudd LOL.

Anyone else excited for Nick's solo album to drop Thursday?  I was beginning to think he would never release an actual album, but just continue to release random singles, and then BAM!  Out of nowhere, he announces a release date a week in advance LOL.

I've really been looking forward to hearing his cover of Dirty Laundry, so I was glad to see that on the tracklisting.  It was such a nice surprise to discover that he dropped the music video for it today!  In all honesty, I don't love his version as much as I thought I would.  It's not bad, but it's different from what I was expecting and not as good as the original.  The music video is kinda hot but also kinda cringe with the bad green screen effects when they're in front of the flame background.  It makes it look really low-budget and amateur, like Nick made it himself... and maybe he did. LOL  Not complaining, though; at least Nick delivers when he says he's working on a new album.  I appreciate him giving us new music to tide us over until the next BSB album.

I'm going to have to watch this new video.

Yes I think Howie and Paul Rudd probably are vampires lol.  I think Howie looks the youngest and has actually got better looking as he's got older in my opinion.

I'm beyond stoked for a new album. All of Nick's solo stuff brings a smile to my face; I really enjoy how he's not afraid to play around with sound and what not. I liked the dirty laundry cover- it made me think of that 'Nick Carter: Before the Backstreet Boys' album that was released by Mark Dye and Dynamic Discs (that was all covers and stuff from when he was like 11-12 which he used for like talent shows and stuff). This time around I think I'm most excited for the comic book video's Nick keeps showing clips of as teasers- the one I'm most excited for is the saving the cat scene from the 'superman' teaser the other day.

I also thought the dirty laundry vid was cheesy but in a good way- I like that Nick is able to truly have fun with things now and then. Though all of the lip/mouth close ups made me think of like a dentist/toothpaste commercial lol.

I'm loving the new album! I've only listened to it a few times in my car so far, so I'm still getting to know the new songs, but so far, my favorite is Storms.  I love the lyrics, but it's also a very pretty song and so personal to him.  Dirty Laundry has grown on me; I still prefer the 80s vibe of the original, but I like Nick's stripped down version too, and his vocals sound really good.  I agree about the video.  The extreme close-ups are kinda hot but also made me notice that his bottom teeth are more crooked than I ever realized before LOL.  Not that I mind; I prefer his real teeth to the veneers he got on the top.  I haven't watched any of the comic book videos yet.  Have you been enjoying them so far?

I’m loving the album as well; and I’m super happy that it’s getting some recognition on the iTunes Store as well (I feel like most people ignored All American and I’m Taking off… so I’m glad that this one is getting more eyes on it) I’m a sucker for introspection (Now or Never is my favorite of Nick’s solo works) so my favorites so far are ‘hey kid’, and ‘superman’. I also really liked ‘stages’ but that one didn’t make the album. As with most albums the more I listen the more the other songs grow on me. Storms is one that is growing on me slowly… ‘searchlight’ and ‘good love’ are also in that group.

The only song that I’m really disappointed with is the rerelease of ’help me’. It’s one of my favorite Nick songs so I was super excited… the backing beat for the rerelease feels too generic 80s music (like rushed internet music vibes) to me and it’s so upbeat that I feel like it over powers the message and emotions of the song (I feel like it would have worked better if he had gone a slower deeper route with it like in the score of The Lost Boys.)

The comic videos are really fun. I’m loving the art! I just wish that they had real dialogue in the artwork instead of just being lyric videos…

I love Hey Kid and Superman as well!  Superman was probably my favorite of all the songs we'd heard before the album came out.  Stages is also really good; I'm surprised that didn't make the album, considering it's also really personal and one of his more recent releases.  But I love that we got an album with so much new material as well as all those other songs he just released as singles.

I actually like the 80s vibe to Help Me!  I don't think it's better than the original by any means, but it's a fun, fresh take on an old song.  I love your idea of giving it a Lost Boys sound, though.  I've always loved the song Cry Little Sister; something along those lines could have been really cool.
