So I type my chapters up in word and then copy/paste them onto AC. When I used to do this the word counts were a lot higher than they were on my word document. Now with the new format of the website, they're a lot less, sometimes even by hundreds of words.
Any idea why this is? It's not a big deal of course, I was just curious.
And does anyone else see this happening, or is it not something you pay attention to? lol

lol mine never match up either. I guess I just never really care. It doesn't make much difference to me the length really, but I have noticed that they are always different.

When they were higher I just assumed it was because Word didn't count proper nouns as words or something. lol
But less is odd...
It just means I need to crank out more to make 3000 word chapters. *shrug* Which can be unfortunate at times, I suppose... But that's my own fault. lol

I noticed that they were higher than Word before, but I hadn't noticed that they were less now.
I just checked, and for me, AC is still quite a bit higher...

In the past when I've been asked this question I solved it...
Do you do your own html coding inside your Word document?
That's what the person who asked me last time was doing. So Word showed it as being more because of those extra "words" but they disappear on AC because it's coding.

I'm not sure what type of coding you mean, but if you mean like the "<i>" or "<center>" stuff, no, I just type up the chapter the way it appears on AC without the HTML coding.

Yeah I know, weird, right? lol
