Title: The Casual Vacancy
Post by: RokofAges75 on October 11, 2012, 09:34:09 PM
This is JK Rowling's new book, and it's next up on my reading list, now that I'm done with 11/22/63.  I'm disappointed with myself that I haven't even bought it yet!  I wanted to finish the Stephen King book first.

Has anyone read this yet, and if so, what did you think?  I have to admit, if it wasn't by JK Rowling, I would not be remotely interested in it based on the synopsis, but I idolize her and have faith in her brilliance, so I'll read anything she writes!

I haven't read it yet. I heard it got mixed reviews and the only reason I'm curious is because it's by her LOL.

I've also heard mixed reviews of it too and that's the reason I've not bought it yet.  I was thinking of downloading the sample on my Kindle app and trying it first.

It didn't sound too interesting to me, I'll wait to see what you think of it Julie because I trust opinions of people I know on this forum more than random people writing reviews. :-D

I still haven't finished reading this book LOL.  It's been sitting unfinished on my nightstand for months.  Sad.  It's not bad, just kind of boring... I kept hoping it would get better and then eventually moved on to better books.  I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually and hopefully finish it over the summer.  Or maybe I'll just reread Harry Potter.
