The nomination period will last for one month! You have until Feb 17, 2009 at midnight EST to send in your noms!
I've taken into consideration feedback from last year's awards, and have redone the categories. In order for a category to make it through the nomination round it must have at least three (3) and no more than six (6) nominees.
Nominations MUST be sent via personal message to "FelixAwards"! Any nominations sent to me, Mare, or Chaos won't be counted. Well, maybe the first time but definitely not the second! :P Please make sure you fill out all of the information, last time many nominations came without links.
Start thinking now if you'd like to be a judge -- application forms will be out soon! Also, don't forget about the 'for your consideration' thread, the only place you can pimp your work!
PS - If you don't fill out a category you don't need to send it back to us. :) Just send along the ones you're filling out.

Do they not have creative names this year? I liked the random names, especially "Keyser Soze Award for best Plot Twist," lol.

Absolutely! It's not a one-nomination-form-per-person kind of deal.
And yes, I opted out of creative names just because there are so many additional categories.

Okay, good, because some of them, I knew exactly what to nominate, and others I wasn't sure.
One more question, sorry if I'm dumb. Is it just that authors can't be nominated with the same story they won a category with last year, or they can't be nominated at all for a category they won last year?

Just the story. So if Mare won for Shadow Woods, she can't win for Shadow Woods again in the same category.

Don't forget to nominate people for the user-voted awards!
It's at the bottom of the form, really simple to fill out all you need is the URL directing us where to go and it's you guys that will do the voting so make sure you don't forget those!

I enjoy nominating fics! I took the time to go through all the fics I'd listed as faves, & even re-read a couple - lol. Well, parts of them - just didn't review, 'cause I was trying to fill out the nominations - lol.

Just giving you a little update on how the nomination period is going so far. Keep those nomination forms coming in!
As of now, the following categories are already at the 6 story mark which means if more come in, we make the decision which 6 to keep in the awards.

And these categories are in danger of closing because as of now they do not have at least 3 nominees.

Maybe you could combine Most Unusual Storyline with Most Creative Storyline. I know when I was nominating stories, I thought those two categories were very similar as it was... I nominated for one, but not both.

Something doesn't have to be unusual to be creative. If it's a really original idea that not many people have used it would fall under creative but not unusual.

I know they're not totally the same, but to me, they're similar. There's a lot of overlap between "creative" and "unusual."

I just meant if you don't get enough for the second category by the end of nominations, just so those stories still get a nomination. :)

Well yeah I would combine them before I took away anyone's nominations but I'll wait to be sure they don't get the set amount before combining the two. I believe one of those categories only needs one more to count.
