I decided to start a new thread since my other one was a bit long.
I posted another story up in scattered Pictures.
Thoughts from an English Countryside from Howie's POV is now posted! It seems a little off topic but it's something i've been wanting to explore for awhile so two birds, one stone and all that fun stuff!

I loved it!! I keep wanting to say, "This was my favorite one yet!" for each of the last few you've posted, but I think my favorite is still the AJ picture one LOL. That the funniest one, while this was the saddest one so far. They're all my favorites in different ways, I guess!

Mare, this is on track to be my favorite story of yours yet... and that's saying a lot, because I have read and enjoyed a lot of your stories! The premise is great, but it's just so well-written, and as I've told you in my reviews, I love love LOVE creepy Tim!

I woke up at 4:15 (blech) and the first thing I did was open word and start a new chapter. I haven't done anything even close to resembling that since my early days! Usually I have to force myself to open word and write.

Thanks, Mandy. Yes, I decided to update mainly because I had promised everyone I would before the review function went down. I'll probably update tonight too, we'll see. I would imagine Tim will not take the news of Howie's departure very well, that's probably a good guess! ;) thanks again!

Exactly. They all want to help Nick (and Howie, let's not forget Howie, poor guy. :D) and it sucks and hurts that the only thing that they can do for him is not doing anything.

The wolves may seem to have left the rest of the guys for the time being, but they were about to eat Howie, too :o I really like how Kevin seems to have re-emerged as the leader/voice of reason here, and I'm glad that AJ is finally free, though the bruising on his stomach worries me. And, of course, Nick's injuries worry me. Heck, they all worry me. I'm anxious to see what Howie's up to in the next chapter.

Yeah, I think it's kind of important to throw in little reminders that even though all this other crap happened, they were also in a pretty bad car wreck on top of everything else. Maybe I'd be nicer to them if they did a concert in my apartment! And you know, Kevin is always my hero lol he needs to get his broken butt to swoop in and save the day. I am at a string seminar at Villa Nova University all day tomorrow so I will not be updating. Most likely I will come home and rip my ears out. Raise your hand if you do not teach strings! Are your hands all raised? Yeah coincidentally so is mine! LOL I'm sure it'll be a very productive day. ??? ::)

Aw poor Howie, lost in the woods and drenched in torrential rain :( But at least the wolves haven't got him yet! I liked how he managed to keep himself motivated and holding back his emotions, I know that I would be a complete wreck in that situation and would just sit there and cry.
I just hope the picnic bench isn't near Tim's cabin and that all that walking just led him back to where he began :(

I am all caught up! I loved the last three chapters, especially Nick's and AJ's. Nick is definitely not okay! What a crazy situation, with Nick getting to talk to the guys in the van for a few minutes and having to convince them to let him leave with Tim and not try anything. That was intense! Then we go to poor Howie, still lost in the woods with the wolves. I enjoyed the Hansel and Gretel reference in that chapter, since you didn't get to write your Hansel and Gretel story for the fairy tale challenge. I'm waiting for Howie to flag down a pair of approaching headlights, only to realize it's Tim's truck. I hope that doesn't happen; I hope he gets away (or gets eaten by wolves).

Thanks, Julie! I thought that would be very WTF? To actually have him be able to go to the van to drop off supplies but have to leave again. I wanted the rest of them to be introduced to the craziness that is Tim and figured that would add a knew level of stress for those three because you know, they don't have enough to worry about or anything! LOL
I'm sure the seminar will be loads of fun in a '4 hours of my life I'll never get back' kind of way, but the best part is getting to spend the day with my music teacher friends!

Poor Howie. I love the little flashback of him camping and thinking of his family, then of Nick. So cute. I love that he worries what will happen when they get back and find him gone, because that is a big worry for me too. Great chapter!

Stupid strings seminars. lol Minus the little AC Blackout, we've been so spoiled with the updates everyday. I'm gonna miss the hell out of it.
I have to say, good job on the meeting at the van scene. I was wondering how you were going to do that, but man, what a position to have to put all of them in. Nick telling them to basically "not do anything" and the guys wanting to tackle Tim, but once again, not able to. Wow...now the boys have this urgency to get him back. As time goes on, Tim's becoming more and more possessive of Nick as well, which will be terrifying for Nick. I love how you're making that obsession a bigger issue, but with these subtle hints. Like the fact that this guy thinks him and Nick are really close and have "gone through" stuff, even though they've only known each other a couple hours.
Howie, I don't know what they're going to do about him, because besides Nick (eventually) no one will really know that he's lost out there. And Nick probably won't be in a position to do anything about it. Stealth D has turned into Survivalist D. Can't wait until Tuesday!

Aww I know! But if it makes you feel any better, I am in the middle of writing chapter 18. I'm way ahead of posting. So, until I catch up to myself, I'll still be able to update pretty steadily. :)
I have to sometimes be careful with how I respond to you guys because by now I know what's happened and you don't, like with poor lacking survival skills, Howie! LOL The weird thing is, usually when I post a chapter about someone, I am writing their chapter as well, but in his case, I just finished him and am now working on the next one.
Thanks for the compliment about the van scene. I was worried about it too. And also about Tim's freaky obsession with Nick. His next chapter I think might help. He's a bit on the nutso bonkers side. LOL I've been cracking myself up writing some of the things that come out of his mouth.

So, funny story! All day today I have been a little bummed out because I hadn't gotten one single review and I know it's a Saturday and I know people are busy but I usually get at least one. So, finally I get my review and click to read and notice it's for chapter 14 still! That's when I realize, the reason no one has reviewed is because I had forgotten to post the chapter! LMAO!! Uh...Duh!

You know how before you write a story, certain scenes stick out visually in your mind? This chapter was always the most vivid for me and was the reason I actually decided to start writing this story, so It's really awesome to finally be there posting wise. I planned on jumping to Howie and Nick next chapter but a lot of you are saying you want to know what happens next at the van. The way I've written this story, I can actually post chapters out of order (I have done it twice already! shh!! don't tell anybody lol) and after rereading the next two chapters, I can do that with no problem so you guys have until tomorrow afternoon to let me know what you'd rather read. A van or a cabin update.
After tomorrow, I will not be able to update again until Friday or Saturday. That's why I'm being nice and giving you the choice! LOL

Sorry, no update. I was just wondering if there was any story you were interested in seeing an update on for the Whatever Happened to... challenge. I know I can think of a few that I could write about. Honestly, not sure if I'll have the time to do it at all but if I do, I'd rather write it on something you'd like to see updated then me because I already know what's happened to all my characters. I guess that's ok, that some of the questions will not be answered. I just thought those visitors would be pretty important like tim might have realized one of those visitors was one of his biological parents, or one of the police that came after them but sadly never got to return. It could be Marilyn's lover too. Too many possibilities. .. lol
Maybe someday, when you are really, really, really bored and have nothing to do. You can write a post about the facts of this story, something like : did you know visitor number 1 was ______ and so on.... lol just joking, Mare. 5 more days before the next chapter. :)

But they are the type of questions that doesn't affect the quality of story whether it is answered or not. Maybe I am just too curious that I wanna know everything even the small, irrelevant details. I think I may have two new ideas in the works both of which I would love some of your input on.
The first thing I plan on posting is a series of one shots about Nick and Brian and their friendship and I'm calling that one "It's complicated" So, I guess what I'm asking from you is anything specific you'd like to see? There might be something that people have always wanted to read about that hasn't been covered yet? I'm obviously going to go in year order and I want it to be as realistic as possible. So, it would also help if you know when some of the stuff you mention happened. I kind of suck at dates and such lol
The second story is going to be the next novel which probably won't happen until after Christmas or maybe even the summer. But it's going to be Nick, Howie and Kevin (sorry AJ you're getting the shaft in both stories this time around)
For this one, I need to know if you'd like more of a bromance type story ala Fly Fishing or action/adventure?
Also what time period? I like to use my Nicks to gauge this one: Young Nick, hot mess Nick or current has his shit together Nick. lol

I really like both of these ideas! As far as the Brian and Nick story goes, I'd like to see pre- and post- Leighanne stories (I know you dislike her greatly, but I think she's such a big part of the history of their friendship). Maybe a one-shot around the shooting of the ALAYLM video (1997?), and perhaps something on Brian's wedding day (that was September 2002 I'm pretty sure). I'm a big researcher into the dates in my stories, so I feel ya.
As far as the Howie/Kevin/Nick one (I am so excited about this one! Sorry Brian and AJ, but these three are my faves, and it can change daily between the three of them), my ideal story here would be present-day action/adventure with a lot of bromance, too. Though, you kind of already went there with Hope. I'd be up for a straight-up bromance, too. Hot mess Nick could also be fun, though. Maybe delve into his relationships with Kevin and Howie during this period. Hot mess Nick spans a lot of years, though- so you have a big time period to work with there.

Leighanne has to be included, of course, but this is also me we're talking about here, so most likely she'll always be out shopping, or figuring out how to exploit her husband's fans or something or other, but she is important so she'll be ever present throughout these one shots. So will the other guys just taking a backseat. No worries, AJ, you'll get in there somewhere.

It's the first time I'm ever doing it, and I kind of saw it coming. I'm just a lot busier than I thought I would be this year & writing has become less and less of a priority so I decided to take that one stressor out of my life for now.
