Ron and Hermione Weasley sat down to breakfast in their new house in a small village right outside of Hogsmeade. "Ron, are you going to save any breakfast for me?" Hermione asked with a laugh. Ron's appetite had not changed since they had gotten married six months ago, after leaving Hogwarts.

Ron just smiled at his beautiful wife and leaned in to give her a quick kiss on the lips, which quickly turned into a snog session. The first couple of months had gone somewhat like that. Before Ron could get carried away, Hermione pulled back and her cheeks turned red. Ron looked at her with disapointment and said, " What's wrong, Hermione?"

Hermione got up from Ron's lap and began to clean up breakfast with her wand. When she was done she went and sat down oppisite of Ron.

Now Ron was worried that he had done something to offended her. "Is there something bothering you, 'Mione?"

"Nothing is bothering me, Ron."

But Ron was not fooled. He got a mishievious look on his face and began to advance on Hermione. He began to pull her closer to him and she went willing, but when she was sitting in his lap he began to tickle her. He loved the sound of her laughter as it echoed arond the room. When she began to gasp for breathe he yelled over her laughter, "Will you tell me now?" He stopped ticking her so that she could have a chance to answer him, but kept his hands around her.

"There is nothing to tell, Ron," she said before doing the only thing she could think of to keep his mind off of her being bothered by something. She pulled his head close to hers and their lips crashed together. Hermione figured that her plan had worked when he pulled her closer to him. Ron's hands drifted down to the edge of Hermione's shirt and slipped his hands to her sides, broke the kiss and began to tickle her yet again.

'This could be harder than I thought,' Hermione thought to herself.

For Hermione was almost telling the truth when she said that nothing was wrong. She had found out that she was 3 weeks pregnant a couple of days ago, but was afraid of how he would react. What if he didn't want to be with her anymore when he found out?

Hermione knew that Ron would love her no matter what, but the thought of having to go through the pregnancy alone terrified her. She would have to tell him sooner or later and the sooner the better.

Through her laughter she choked out the words,"Ok, alright, I will tell you."

Ron let her go and Hermione let her catch her breath before he said," So...."

Hermione looked him in the eye, took a deep breath and answered his question.

"Ron, I am pregnant."

He reacted better than she thought was possible in the current situation. He pulled her close to him and pulled her lips to his. But their snog session was interrupted by a tapping on the window. Ron reluctanly let go of Hermione and went over to the window to let in the owl.

"Ron, that is Hedwig, but that letter is not from Harry."

Indeed, the letter that the snowy owl was deliviring was not from their best friend, but from Hagrid. The letter was covered in tears and only had two words on it.

Voldemort won.

Hermione looked up at Ron, "No...."

Hermione went over to the chair to sit down, buired her head in her hands and turned away from him. He knew that she did not want him to see her crying.

For a moment Ron stood there, not thinking, just staring ahead. Then he decided that the best place for him to be right now was with his wife. He walked over to the chair that she was sitting in and pulled her up into his arms, hugging her close. "Shhhhh. He wouldn't want you to cry, Hermione."

They stood like that for several minutes until Ron decided that the best thing to do would be to go to lie down until they got over the shock. "C'mon, 'Mione, lets go lay down." But before they could reach the bedroom they heard a loud 'crack' behind Ron. Hermione's eyes shot open and and quickly let go of Ron and went for her wand.

Because the tall man standing behind her husband was wearing a black robe and a mask that covered his face-a death eater.

Ron whipped out his wand and turned to look at the intruder. Neither one of them stopped to think of the danger that they may pose to Voldemort now that Harry was dead.

"What do you want?" he shouted at the Death Eater.

The mysterious Death Eater suprised the couple by pulling off his mask and letting his pale face be viewed and pulled his hood back so that his long pale hair could be seen.

Ron was in front of Hermione, as if protecting her, but it seemed that Hermione would have none of that nonesense. She stepped out from behind him and all of the hatred that the trio-now duo-had felt for him for years began to pour out before she could relize what she was doing.

"Why don't you take your slimy, prejudice, ugly, good-for-nothing self and leave - us - alone." Her sentence stunned all three people in the small kitchen. Silence overtook the kitchen as her words sunk in.

Lucius was the first to recover and react. He began to advance toward Hermione with his wand outstretched, his mouth ready to form the killing curse, but was stopped by the thought that his master would reward him greatly if he could bring the late Harry's closest friends to him alive. 'The mudblood should be easy to subdue,' he thought to himself with a evil smirk a that greatly reminded Hermione of his son, Draco. With lightining speed he cast expelliarmus charm on both of them and easily caught their wands in his outstretched hands.

Hermione was caught off guard when her wand flew out off her hand, quickly followed by Ron's. Next thing she knew, there was a streak of red light heading toward her and all she saw was black before she hit the floor.

Ron looked down at her and his face went white. Thinking that she was dead, he bent down beside her, completly forgetting that there was still a Death Eater in the room. 'Please, Hermione, don't be dead, you can't be dead,' Ron thought to himself. He looked down at her and was relieved that she was still breathing.

He was suddenly once again aware of the Death Eater in the room that had cast the curse. Ron looked up at Lucius and was disgusted by the look of amusement on his face. Ron could not perform magic without his wand, but his ability to fight the muggle way was renewed with the anger he felt towards the man that hurt his Hermione. He charged at Lucius, but missed him when he stepped to the side and instead punched the wall. He turned around with a quickness that rivaled Lucius' and his curled up fist made contact with the Death Eater's nose.

Lucius reeled backwards and blood began to stream out of his nose. He cast a quick spell on his own face and the bleeding immediatly ceased. He looked up at Ron and gave him an evil grin that was made all the scarier by the fresh blood that had run into his mouth and stained all of his teeth red.

"You"ll pay for that one, Weasley," that was all of the warning that Lucius gave him before petrifing Ron. Lucius slowly walked over to Hermione and picked her up and set her down in front of Ron, as if gloating his victory over the two.

He slowly and carefully tied up Ron then muttered the countercourse, "Ennervate." Ron immediatly tried to sit up, but stopped struggling when he saw that there was no use in it.

"What are you going to do with us?" Ron managed to spat out through his anger.

"Oh, I am not going to do anything with you, blood traitor, but the mudblood is going to the Dark Lord," came Lucius's smooth reply.

"What does he want with her?"

"That is none of your buissness."

Ron decided to try another tactic, "Why don't you take me instead?"

Lucius looked back at Ron, then back at Hermione. With out answering, he walked over to Ron, then pointed his wand at his head. "Stupefy, Obliviate," was all he said before putting on his mask, grabbing hold of Hermione's arm apparating away.

A/N: Love it? Hate it? Do you want it to contine or should I just give up?
